Principal Notes

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to all of our students who made their First Communion on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day filled with joy over the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Friday’s Grandparents and Special Friends Day was so much fun. Our 8th-grade class beautifully conducted the traditional May Crowning, and our TK and K students sang wonderfully for their guests. The Art Show was amazing and filled with so much talent.  And Bingo was a huge success.  Thank you to all who helped in every way possible.  We truly could not do it without you.

This weekend, we present Drama Club’s performance of State Fair.  Times are Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.  You can reserve seats here or purchase tickets at the door.  Our student actors are ready and excited to showcase their hard work and talent, so come out and support them.

Have a fantastic week,

Sincerely,

Jennifer

Student Council Olympics

Dear St. Philip the Apostle School Community,

We are excited to announce that the Student Council will be hosting our second annual

A vs. B Class Olympics on Friday, May 23rd, from approximately 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM.

The day will begin with an opening ceremony on the Yard, where students will proudly parade with their team flags and gather in designated areas. The Student Council will lead us in prayer and share key announcements before the games begin. Students will then rotate through nine event stations, with each station supervised by two Student Council members and two parent volunteers.

We are seeking parent volunteers to help us make this special event a success. You are welcome to sign up for multiple roles if you’re able to help in more than one area:

Volunteer Opportunities

SET-UP CREW:

Meet at the front of the school at 7:15 AM to sign in. Volunteers will help set up event stations by placing cones, arranging equipment, and preparing activity areas.

EVENT STATION VOLUNTEER:

Each volunteer will be assigned to a specific event station and will help keep activities running smoothly and safely. You’ll be responsible for tracking scores for both A and B classes. Teachers will rotate classes from station to station, and Student Council members will run the games.

CLEAN-UP / BREAKDOWN CREW:

After the final events and awards, this crew will help return supplies and equipment to their proper places while students enjoy popsicles.

POPSICLE PASSERS:

Assist our TK students in distributing popsicles to all classes at the end of the event.

Volunteer Meeting

A volunteer meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 21st after school at 3:30pm to prepare everyone for their roles. Note: Volunteer hours for this event will count toward the 2025–2026 school year!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Mandy Behr (mbehr@stphiliptheapostle.org). We’re looking forward to a fun and memorable day outdoors on May 23rd!

Blessed Are the Children Committee

We were blessed to have so many grandparents and special friends come last Friday. A huge thank you to Katie Cowen, Kaytee Griffith, Katie Cincis, Molly Connelly, Jessica James, and all of the Blessed Are the Children committee for hosting the day and making it so special! Thank you to all the volunteers who also helped the Blessed Are the Children committee.

Also, thank you to Gina Cockriel, Nicole Lamb and the PR Committee, and Vivian Hosp and the Board Affairs committee for organizing and arranging Bingo and the Fr. Joe Memory Wall tiles. Bingo and the tiles were very successful raising over $5600 for the Fr. Joe Fund!

This is a very special day and we appreciate everyone who helps with this event and are grateful for all those who attended!
