Dominican Sisters 2025-26 Update
We received word from Mother Amata Veritas late last week about which sisters will be returning to Saint Agnes School. We will be having the following sisters returning for the 2025-26 school year: Sr. Mary Martha and Sr. Maria Angelico. That means that we will have to say goodbye to Sr. Gianna Marie, Sr. Incarnata, and Sr. Maria Diana at the end of this year.
The sisters who are returning to Saint Agnes next year will be in the same positions as this year. In addition, we will be welcoming two new sisters to our Upper School—namely, Sr. Mary Lawrence and Sr. Maria Canisius. Sr. Mary Lawrence will be in one of our upper elementary classrooms. Sr. Maria Canisius will be taking Sr. Maria Diana’s place in US Humanities courses.
I am so grateful for our three departing Sisters’ contributions to our school community and for their witness to our students these past two (or three) years. Thank you so much for your beautiful service to our community, Sister Gianna Marie, Sister Incarnata, and Sr. Maria Diana!
Please continue to pray for the sisters, for Mother Amata, and for our three sisters as they transition from Saint Agnes School.

Reminder: Nonpublic School Aid Rally 5/7
I wanted to provide one more reminder about the important rally taking place at the Capitol this week. Please consider joining our 60+ students and selection of faculty and administrators who will be in attendance to advocate for our students’ access to essential services and to speak with your legislators in-person.
The Minnesota Catholic Conference and MINNDEPENDENT are hosting a Nonpublic School Advocacy Day and Rally on Wednesday, May 7th from 9AM-4:30PM, with a rally in the Capitol Rotunda at 1:30PM.
As you are probably aware, our governor has proposed a budget for our state that, if approved, will defund nonpublic pupil aid to the tune of over $50 million each year, or $540/student. Here at Saint Agnes, that translates to the elimination of roughly $342,000 in funding for essential services like testing, textbooks, counseling and nursing services, and busing/transportation.
Whether or not you are able to attend the rally, please contact your local legislators to ensure that this budget does not get approved.
To learn more not only about the event, but about nonpublic pupil aid, please consult the attached PDFs below or visit the Minnesota Catholic Conference’s website: https://www.mncatholic.org/rally25

CASA Update
It is with sadness and gratitude that we will say goodbye to our beloved "Miss Mary" who has faithfully run CASA this past year. Please see note below and be in touch with Mrs. Naughton if you know of anyone interested in stepping into the CASA Coordinator role for 2025-26.
Working at CASA as "Miss Mary" has been fun and rewarding. Being part of a team who loves children and loves God, has been a real joy. Although I will miss spending time with all the wonderful children, my on-going work in real estate along with family obligations will be my priorities next year. I will take the loving spirit of Saint Agnes School with me and for that I will always be grateful.
God Bless you all!
Mary Adema

We are pleased to work with someone of Mr. Gockowski's witness and experience, his deep commitment to Liberal Arts/Classical Catholic education, and his ability to lead and form elementary-aged children into people of faith, reason, and virtue!
