Our current worship schedule is as follows:
8:00 AM Rite I Holy Eucharist Service
10:30 AM Rite II Holy Eucharist Service. This service will also be live streamed.

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL - THIS SUNDAY!
We will be having our annual Blessing of the Backpacks at both services on Sunday, August 14. If you are a student, teacher, or staff member at any school level, you are invited to come up during the announcements to receive a special blessing for the beginning of the school year. All are invited to an ice-cream social after the 10:30 service to celebrate the beginning of the new school year.

Dear CEC parishioners, on Sunday, August 14th, after the Ice Cream Social, we will need several volunteers to assist in removing everything off of the walls in the Sanctuary and Narthex, and crating up toys in the Cry Room in preparation for the painting of the Church the following Monday, August 15th.
Also, if you are able, please help us put things back together on Saturday, August 20th, starting at 10:00am. We will need to get things put back together in time for church Sunday morning.
If you plan to volunteer either day, please bring a ladder or step ladder if you have one handy, and small tools, such as cordless drills, pliers, hammers with nail removing capability, screwdrivers, and perhaps gloves. As always, we appreciate everything you do!

The Senior Shepherds of CEC will be meeting Wednesday the 17th of August 2022 at 11:45am in the Library. We will enjoy our delicious monthly potluck luncheon and some interesting conversation. At this meeting we will discuss the update of our successful “Community Activities Guide” for the neighboring Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock and Jonestown communities. This annual brochure lists time and location of community activities of interest to our church members, locations of local schools, hospitals, parks and other places of interest as well as phone numbers of emergency services. We plan to hand it out again this year to families from the local community attending the Ministry Fair “Trunk or Treat”. Anyone in the church over the age of 50 is welcome to join us for the potluck and activities. For more information contact [email protected].

Discipleship Group - This group meets the first and third Sunday of the month at 6:00 pm in the library. It includes study of the Sunday service gospel readings and is open to anyone wishing to participate. Please contact Bill Sterling at [email protected] for more information. |

The Tuesday Book Club is now reading Spiritual Classics: Selected Readings on the Twelve Spiritual Disciplines by Richard Foster. This book includes the writings of some of the brightest lights of the Christian Tradition including: St. Augustine, Thomas Merton, Fredrick Buechner, Thomas More, Martin Luther King, Jr., and more. . . Please join us from 10:30-12:00 in the library for lively discussions and lots of laughs. Men and women of all ages are welcome. Our church nursery is open from 9:00 am to noon. The nursery is located in the stone building. The nursery serves children through the age of 4 and is open every Sunday morning. |

ROOTS YOUTH GROUP
This Sunday, teens should bring their school backpacks to church for a blessing to prepare for a great school year. All are invited to an ice-cream social after the 10:30 service. At noon CEC will be prepping the sanctuary for painting. Any help would be appreciated!
