Weekly Newsletter: 9/15/2025

Dear Saint Agnes School Families,

We look forward to gathering as a community with you for our Homecoming Football Game at Concordia’s Sea Foam Stadium on Friday, September 19th. Homecoming is one of the greatest celebrations for us each year.  I write today to implore your help.

In recent years, we have had multiple instances of unintended damage to our host’s facilities by some of our children. To be clear: we are at risk of losing access to the field where we host Homecoming, if we do not adjust our approach to supervision of children .

To that end, we are adjusting the following expectations for this year’s Homecoming game:

  • Supervision of children: Children must be under the direct supervision of their parents throughout the pregame tailgate, during the game, and during all Homecoming festivities taking place at Sea Foam Stadium. Children should not be roaming the concourse, playing football or other games, or gathering unattended in any capacity apart from you as their parents.
  • Sports balls: No balls of any kind are allowed inside the stadium.
  • No re-entry: Fans will not be allowed to leave the stadium and return.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and for your commitment to modeling Saint Agnes virtue at all of our events. Together, we can ensure that Homecoming remains a joyful, life-giving celebration for our Aggie community for years to come.

We look forward to cheering on the Aggies with you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin Ferdinandt

Headmaster

Dual Enrollment: Round 1 (DUE: Fri., Sept. 19)

The first round of Dual Enrollment registration has opened. High school students and parents received an email with all of the information on Dual Enrollment. This round is for qualifying Semester 1 courses only (only 5 courses this round; more coming in Round 2 registration in winter). Cost is $115 per course (awards 3 college credits). Dual Enrollment is an amazing cost-effective investment for college/university. Questions? Please contact Dr. Michael Adkins.

Volunteering at Saint Agnes

We are grateful for our generous parent volunteers, as the true cost of education at Saint Agnes exceeds tuition and relies on everyone’s support of their time and talents. Volunteer opportunities are now listed on our website, where you can fill out an interest form. Please note that volunteers working with youth must complete the Archdiocese Essential Three (E3) Safe Environment requirements. For questions, contact Mrs. Becca DeMarais at bdemarais@saintagnesschool.org or 651-925-8759.

Lower School Library Volunteers Needed

We are so grateful to have a Lower School Library, filled with great books for students. We want to open it up for students after school, so that they can check out books and read at their leisure. We need someone to help students check out books, however. If you are able and willing to help, even if only for one or two days each week, please email Mr. David Gockowski, Director of the Lower School.

Kitchen Volunteers Needed

Please consider volunteering in our kitchen! The kitchen is a fun, energetic part of the school where you get to work with a great team AND meet the students in the school.

Please email Food Service Director, Mrs. Kelly DiPietro, to help out!

 Online Athletic Tickets

Saint Agnes as well as many of our opponents use GoFan as our online ticket Box Office. While Saint Agnes continues to provide both cash and online payment options, many other schools do not. Online Ticket Link: https://gofan.co/app/school/MN9808

See the Saint Agnes athletic calendar for all times, locations, and livestreams for this week's games.

Please contact Athletic Director Mr. Streitz with any questions.

Saint Agnes Band Performs at U of M Football Game

Congratulations to the Saint Agnes Band for performing in the half-time show with the U of M Marching Band and 11 other high schools when the Gophers played Northwestern State University on Saturday, September 6th. This massive band was made up of 1,300 students total.

Stewardship of Resources: Covering Our Textbooks!

In an effort to take better care our textbooks, we’re asking students in grades K-12 to cover their textbooks. This initiative includes larger, hard-bound textbooks in Math, Science, History, for example. Novels and other paperback materials do not need to be covered, unless directed by teachers. Covering a textbook is cheap (usually free) and easy! Here’s a 1 min. 36 sec. video: How to Cover a Textbook with a Paper Grocery Bag

Flowers for the Sisters' Chapel

We are very blessed to welcome back our Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist to their convent here at Saint Agnes. A way we can show our care and support for them is by providing flowers weekly for their chapel that is inside the school building on the second floor. It’s as easy as purchasing 4 bouquets of flowers, 2 bouquets of green fillers, dropping them off, and then the Sisters will arrange them in their vases and pray for you and your family’s intentions.

The sign up sheet is easily accessed at: www.bitly.com/chapelflowers.
