For those of you who missed yesterday’s (Tuesday) Economic Development meeting with guest speaker Komi Haas you missed a great opportunity to meet and hear the story of one of the most inventive people I have ever met. Dr. Haas immigrated to this country at the age of ten from his home in Iran with just 2-days’ notice. His family had to leave the country he loved and knew as the war was escalating with Iraq.
The journey this man took to arrive in this country is fascinating but what is the most amazing is the impact he has made since his arrival.
Dr. Hoss is an example of a true entrepreneur and a true marketing genius. He and his wife working in unison with each using their unique strengths have built the Super Dentist pediatric orthodontics business with eight locations throughout San Diego, Temecula and Riverside including Escondido.
He has written books, written and produced movies, written and recorded music and is also a pistachio farmer in the central valley.
There is more, much more but not today.
I just wanted to share with you the opportunity those of us who attended had in sitting and talking about his life and what has led him to where he is today. Invaluable.
And to top it off he invited us to join him and over 4,000 other invited guests to Petco Park October 2nd as he has planned and worked to set the world’s record for people flossing their teeth at one time before the Padres game. Dr. Hoss has worked with the Guinness World Records folks for over a year planning this and on October 2nd he will have 80+ Guinness Book of World Records officials whom he has flown in on hand to witness and verify the record.
Marketing genius.
Our committee meetings are meant to be informative, insightful, meaningful, and inspiring. Yesterday’s meeting nailed it on all accounts.
Cheers, JR
