Why I Became an Ambassador For
The Greater Escondido
Chamber of Commerce
There is so much value in being a pro-active member at the Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce. The experiences, connections and opportunities I had after joining the Chamber in 2009 as a small business owner led me to attend and get involved in Chamber events, serve on the Chamber’s Board of Directors from 2013 until 2018, and now serve as a Chamber Ambassador.
In 2009 I was encouraged by friends to open a business in Escondido and join the Chamber of Commerce. Immediately after joining I was contacted by Chamber Ambassadors who welcomed me and offered their support and services in assisting with the grand opening I was planning. Taking advantage of the connections and networking opportunities made by attending events made it possible for me to connect with others in the community that played a role in growing my business. The direct access to local dignitaries and successful business owners were priceless as it opened doors and provided sound counsel on
how to strengthen and grow my business. This experience gave me an understanding on how the many moving parts orchestrated by the Chamber are critical for anyone who owns a business or is thinking of opening a business in the Greater Escondido area.
Due to the positive experience I had as a new member and new business owner, I made a commitment to give back to the organization, local government and local businesses by offering my time and talents that could be beneficial to the community and new business owners. For these reasons I attended as many ribbon cutting events, sponsored Chamber events, and became more involved by attending Economic Development and Government Affairs meetings, as well as participated in the Chamber mixers. As a result, I was asked to serve on the Board of Directors in 2013. I served on several committees until 2018 when I withdrew from my position to care for an ailing family member. I eventually also sold my
successful business in 2019.
After returning as a Public Relations and Community Outreach Representative for Fix Auto Escondido in 2021, the first and most important thing I knew we needed was to get more involved with the Chamber of Commerce. For that reason I asked to come on board as a Chamber Ambassador. I have a passion for connecting people and helping new businesses get more involved and connected in the community they
have invested in. I believe my experiences from previously being a new business owner that was warmly received and greatly assisted by the Chamber, as well as the experience I gained from being a Board Member, have given me a unique perspective of the Chamber as a whole. I believe these experiences have uniquely qualified me to guide new members, as well as recruit new members, to grow the Chamber and benefit the membership and community I serve.
