Timing is everything. Keep that thought in mind. I sit here today in my office staring out the window and seeing the day transform right in front of me. This morning started bright and crisp and this afternoon we’re transitioning with an overcast chill setting in. No complaints here. Let it rain.
I just received the latest offerings from the city as the staff prepares for the upcoming Escondido State of the City address March 22nd, 5p at City Hall. Each year at the Annual State of the City address, the City Council recognizes community members who have given outstanding service to Escondido as volunteers. Do you have someone in mind? Seems to be many deserving individuals. The nomination form and additional information can be found here: https://escondido.org/state-of-the-city-address Nominations need to be submitted by next Monday.
Thank you to Congressman Scott Peters and the local business leaders who gave of their time to share their business realities at a very special round-table last Thursday morning here. The Chamber was able to put together a varied group of local business leaders who met here at the Chamber with the Congressman. Awareness is the first step to solving any problem.
I recently had a chance to meet with Julie Procopio and the conversation centered on the progress being made by the City on the Centre City route completion connecting the 15 freeway to the ERTC. The Escondido Research & Technology Center (ERTC) is a 164-acre technology park, strategically located west of the Wineridge Business Park in the city of Escondido. The ERTC is anchored by a 550-megawatt Palomar Energy Plant, the Stone Brewing Company, and the Palomar Medical Centre West facility.
Julie shared that the project could be done within the next 2-years. This is big deal as it could be a real game-changer for our business community and attract new business opportunities in our backyard. Here’s a link to project: ERTC
Let’s keep focused on growing our business community and giving any business which chooses our community to do business every chance possible of succeeding.
Thank you to our Mayor Dane White for invigorating our community with his energy! He’s literally everywhere. Business owners and leaders have taken notice as has the Chamber.
And, if you haven’t subscribed to our Chamber’s weekly newsletters here is an easy way to do it, just CLICK HERE and send us a message to find out all about the Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce.
Together we are stronger.
