I’m back. Certainly, seems like a lot going on around here since we last connected.
My unplugging sabbatical is over and kind of like a 3-day fast, I’m not sure it made a difference.
Masks are mandatory inside and out. Ok so the Chamber is giving away KN95 masks. These are the good ones, and we’ll keep giving them out until we run out of them. Thank you to Patti Thompson and her giant heard of followers for helping spread the word. Let’s see what the Gov says on the 15th but for now we have KN95 masks for free.
Jerry VanLeeuwen announced his retirement effective as soon as there is a replacement found so that means never, as you’ll never replace Jerry. He’s one-of-a-kind. Thank you, Jerry.
Brian Murphy’s Wood A Furniture Show XII runs through 2/25 at the Center for The Arts and is worth a visit. Congratulations on another great show Mr. Murphy.
The 40th issue of the Escondido Magazine is in the final stages and will be out next week. It is another quality edition celebrating the past 39 editions with a retrospective cover depicting the past 39 covers. Thank you for the creative guidance of Chris Connors at Printing Solutions.
Progress albeit slow, is happening on Grand Avenue as the City continues implementing its Grand Avenue Vision Project. Now if we could just have a vision and implement a plan to fill the empty storefronts which breaks the harmony of the fine restaurants and retailers open along Grand. Coming soon a "GrandCam" will be up on the Chamber’s website. Follow the changes live 24/7.
I thoroughly enjoyed recording our latest
Wonderland Podcast with our special guest Jeff Epp, Escondido’s former City Manager. Jeff shared his background and evolution from Wyoming to Escondido and so much more. Take a listen to the Chamber’s
Wonderland Podcast.
The Chocolate Festival is back in person and more information can be found below.
The Escondido Transportation Exhibition planning is in full bloom and great progress is being made. If you’d like to know more about opportunities to participate or just attend, please reach out to us at the Chamber. Stay tuned for more as we continue to build this important inaugural event here in Escondido.
