A Message from Father David
Living Pascha, Day to Day
This week we say farewell to the Season of Pascha, the Season of the Resurrection. But the reality of our Christian life is that Pascha is not only a celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection 2,000 years ago, nor is it only a promise for the age to come. It is a reality that begins now in Christ. By His death and Resurrection, the Lord has trampled down death and opened the way from corruption to communion with God. The empty tomb is therefore not merely a sign of victory, but the beginning of new creation and true hope for the whole world.
To live the Resurrection is to turn again and again toward Christ with faith, repentance, and thanksgiving. In prayer, in the Divine Liturgy, in forgiveness, and in acts of mercy, we begin to share even now in the life that cannot be overcome by the grave. Resurrection life is the quiet transformation of the heart, the healing of the soul, and the steady learning of joy in the presence of the Risen Lord.
For the Orthodox Christian, Pascha is not only a feast remembered once a year, but the pattern of life itself. Each day becomes an invitation to rise from fear, sin, and despair into the light of Christ. And so we pray to receive this gift with humility, that the power of His Resurrection may renew our minds, strengthen our love, and make our lives an authentic witness to the words, “Christ is risen!”
Blessings,
Father David
