Dear Friends,

On Sunday, we will hear a series of Jesus’s sayings from the Gospel of John. This collection, gathered from oral tradition and shaped by the author’s own priorities, imagines Jesus as a shepherd, guiding his sheep through a gate to a place of life and safety.

This passage isn’t easy to interpret, but its message puts us in the role of sheep (not the smartest or most independent of creatures)! And yet, we are tasked with following Jesus as faithfully we can, as individuals and as a community, whether others are doing so faithfully or not.

How are we doing at recognizing Jesus’s true voice? I believe that each of us has the ability to know whether one message or another is truly of Jesus or not. Do you know your savior’s voice?

I look forward to digging into these sayings with you on Sunday.

See you then!

Pete

Hi families,

This week, our church school kids will continue exploring the unit, “Singing for God,” through the lens of drama and storytelling. We’ll take on the role of different characters in the Acts 16 story of Paul and Silas in jail and consider how it may have felt to worship God during a difficult circumstance. Sunday evening, Women’s Fellowship will meet at 7pm with featured speakers from the Guild Consignment Center!

EARTH WEEK - "IN YOUR BONES"

Wednesday of this week was Earth Day #56! This Sunday the Folk Choir will sing a song honoring that day, this week - and Our Planet Earth. You may be asked to sing along, in which case, here are the words:

May you know in your bones

That the Earth is your home.

May you feel in your soul

You are worthy and whole.

May you know in your bones

That the Earth is your home.

May you feel that you belong.

This might be an excellent time to do something for Our Mother that goes beyond what you already do. God knows she needs our help!

And always remember to

USE WISELY...” HELP US CARE FOR OUR FRAGILE ENVIRONMENT

             BY REDUCING WASTE.

REDUCE - REFUSE - REUSE - - REPAIR - RECYCLE - ROT (COMPOST)
