ADMINISTRATION AND VESTRY | |
St. John's Annual Meeting
Our parish Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 26th following our liturgy (approximately 10:30).
Please plan on staying and attending our Annual Meeting. We need to have a quorum in order to conduct our parish business. A continental breakfast will be served.
The Annual Meeting Agenda will include:
- The Spirit of St. John’s Award
- 2024 Financial Summary and 2025 Parish Budget
- Election of Vestry Members
- Election of Delegates and Alternates for Diocesan Convention
- Appointment of the Senior Warden
- Congregational Conversation
The question remains for us as a parish: How will we continue to fulfill and make present the kingdom of God?
Or in other words, with regard to our parish family:
- what do you long for?
- what do you hope for?
- what do you want to see happen?
I want to hear your answers.
Therefore, I invite you to come and see how our hopes and dreams and yearnings might be fulfilled.
I look forward to the coming year with much hope and excitement.

St. John’s Vestry
For the coming year of 2025, there are three (3) open positions on the Vestry.
St. John’s, as a non-profit corporation of the State of California, has a Board of Directors.
The church called the Board - The Vestry. The Vestry is responsible for the physical church property and the business operations of the parish.
To be eligible for vestry a person must be 18 years of age, attend worship, and contribute (time, talent, or treasure), baptized or communicant member of the parish. There is an option for a youth representative - "aged not less than sixteen (16) nor more than (18) years, may be elected by the Vestry to a one-year term and shall have seat and voice but no vote. No member of the Vestry shall be a family member of the first degree (i.e., parent, child, spouse) of any other member of the Vestry.
We currently have three (3) nominees. If you are interested in nominating yourself to run for election to the Vestry, please let Rev. Roger know.
Election of the Vestry Members will happen by a vote of the parish members at the St. John’s Annual Meeting in January.
Thank you for considering.

Annual Stewardship Campaign
Sowing Seeds of Hope
Our annual Stewardship Campaign continues.
I am grateful to all of you who have already considered and made your 2025 pledge.
If you have not had the opportunity to pledge, I ask you to consider how you can generously support St. John’s in the year ahead. Consider: how each person of our parish is that “good soil” in which seeds are planted. We nurture one another in our growth into the full stature of Christ.
How will you continue to enrich the good soil so that our faith may grow strong and health?
How will you continue to sow seeds in others and allow the seeds of hope to be planted within your heart?
Thank you for the generosity you have shown in the past and for your continued commitment to planting the seed of God and growing together in the future.

Year of Discipleship 2025
By: Chris Tumilty, Director of Communications
& Charlette Preslar, Director of Formation
At our 51st Diocesan Convention, Bishop Susan said, “We are to be salt and yeast to the world. Ingredients that, if you add just a tiny amount, it changes the whole shape and flavor of the dish. It turns it into something it wasn't before. For us, being salt and yeast means loving the world just as Christ has loved us. Love makes all the difference. Love can change the minds and hearts of human beings.”
How can we live out our daily lives in Christ-like love? Carrying the lessons we learn in church into our homes, workplaces, and communities? In our families–modeling Christ’s patience and forgiveness? In our workplaces–striving for integrity, kindness, and excellence? In our communities–seeking the welfare of others, advocating for justice, and pursuing reconciliation? Read More
