DIA DEL NIÑO

Yesterday, April 30th, St. John's and ECS celebrated Dia del Niño (Day of the Child), honoring the joy, dignity, and potential of every child.

230 children from our Head Start program, along with their parents and families participated in a fun afternoon of "carnival" activities, games, music, raffle and snacks.

The event was a wonderful way to express our mission of educating and nurturing children, welcoming people from the community to our Church campus, and celebrating the Latino/Hispanic culture.

ACROSS THE CHURCH

Episcopal Community Services’ Head Start in Danger

A newly proposed federal budget would eliminate Head Start funding entirely, cutting off access to early education and essential family support services for thousands of underserved children across the San Diego region. We can’t let this happen. Families rely on Head Start for stability and a strong start in life.

Tuesdays, May 6th-May 27th, 6:30pm

Towards A Fuller Gospel is a dynamic virtual speaker series highlighting the voices of racially diverse clergy as they illuminate scripture through the lens of their lived experiences, cultural perspectives, and/or the stories of the communities that formed them. Over the course of four weeks, faith leaders from across the Episcopal Church will model how race, identity, culture and community shape and expand the ways we understand and apply sacred texts today.
