A Prayer for our Country in Remembrance of September 11th
and as we look forward to the upcoming election:
Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage:
We humbly pray that we may always prove ourselves a people
mindful of your favor and glad to do your will.
Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners.
Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance,
and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought to this country out of many kindreds and tongues.
Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name
we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace
at home, and that, through obedience to your law,
we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth.
In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness,
and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in you to fail;
all this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Aligning Values with Votes
By: EDSD Coalition of Voter Advocates
As people of faith, we are called to engage thoughtfully and prayerfully in the political process. Voting is a way to express our hope for a better future, where the needs of the vulnerable are addressed, and policies promoting the well-being of all are uplifted. In this election, let us reflect on the teachings that guide our lives—values like love, justice, and mercy—allowing them to inform our decisions.
Participating in the democratic process as a way to live out our values and faith is vital. Voting is a powerful tool for shaping the future of our communities, allowing us to advocate for justice, peace, and the dignity of every person–our values. Read More

Knowing Yourself is designed to equip individuals to better see their differences and divergences as strengths to be utilized in living into their unique calling as a part of the Body of Christ. Attendees will better understand their blind spots and name identities that no longer serve them while reclaiming aspects that are most authentic and beloved. Knowing Yourself utilizes the sociological concept of “social location” to expand the lens through which we see Christ in the world and each other.
