Parish Technology Initiative: Informative Session
Helping Parishes Navigate Technology & Making Parish Operations Efficient

As many of you know, last year we established the first formal technology presence within the Diocese. As part of this effort, we have spent the past year piloting a parish technology support initiative with several parishes. Based on what we have learned through this pilot, we are now ready to welcome additional parishes to participate in this parish initiative.
This Informative Session is ideal for:

Any parish employee or volunteer who has an interest in technology
- Parishes that are experiencing challenges managing their technology environment
- Parishes that recognize a need to assess, update or modernize their technology

Garces Memorial High School proudly honored Fr. David Lopez, the school’s chaplain, as the 2026 Garces Memorial Man of the Year at their Msgr. Leddy Golf Tournament Dinner on Thursday, September 10th.
From celebrating Mass, hearing Confessions, and supporting campus ministry to attending school events, Fr. David is always there for the Garces students.

Congratulations to the
Sergio P. Negro Scholarship Awardees

On September 13th, the St. Paul Catholic Newman Center celebrated Founder’s Day. Fr. Sergio P. Negro, the parish’s founding pastor, had a deep and abiding commitment to education.
A scholarship endowment fund to promote higher education and vocational training, with a particular interest in those training to be in a ministry to serve others, was established to honor Fr. Negro’s legacy.
This year, 4 Sergio Negro scholarships totaling $14,000 were awarded to individuals actively involved in the life of the parish community for years.
Congratulations to the Sergio P. Negro Scholarship recipients: Ryan Borunda, Leilani Castillo, Marcel Leal, and Aiden Purtell.

Jubilee Year Pilgrimage
St. Malachy, Tehachapi

St. Malachy Parish in Tehachapi completed an Indulgenced Pilgrimage to St. Francis of Assisi in Bakersfield on Saturday, September 13th!
The parishioners prayed, reflected on the life of St. Francis, and listened to Franciscan vocation testimonies during the pilgrimage.
