Nowhere else will you find more manatees than here in Crystal River, Homosassa, and the waters of Florida’s Citrus County. Each winter between 500 and 1000 manatees are drawn here by three first magnitude spring systems, each with a constant temperature of 72° to 74° F (23° C). It is the most important natural warm water refuge for manatees along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Even in the warm summer months, up to 100 manatees remain here all year.
It’s also one of only a few places in the world where you can have an the in-water experience of swimming with manatees in their own natural environment. It’s a privilege and responsibility we take seriously and our in-water guides are trained to make sure we and you treat this beloved threatened species with the utmost care and respect. All swimmers on manatee tours learn their “Manatee Manners” before ever getting in the water.

Strong jobs report adds to rate discussion | |
Stronger-than-expected hiring in May points to a resilient labor market, but it could also keep mortgage affordability in focus if the Federal Reserve sees less reason to cut interest rates soon, economists said.
Employers added 172,000 jobs in May, about double what many economists expected, while the unemployment rate held steady at 4.3%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Job gains were led by leisure and hospitality, local government and health care, while financial activities lost jobs. Construction added 17,000 jobs, pointing to continued building activity.
Revisions also added a combined 93,000 jobs to March and April, bringing the three-month average to 188,000 jobs.
Florida Realtors® Chief Economist Dr. Brad O’Connor said the strong labor market data may give the Fed less reason to cut rates unless inflation shows more progress.

Manufactured homes have a reputation problem – but so did sardines, until foodies decided the humble little fish had a cool factor. Today's homes have come a long way from the boxy trailers of the past. The stigma, however, has been slower to fade. So what will it take to ditch the old "tin can" image?
For buyers struggling to afford a starter home, manufactured homes offer modern layouts at a much lower price. They cost about 40% less per month than traditionally built houses, according to Fannie Mae.
In December 2025, the median price for a manufactured home purchased along with land using a conventional mortgage was $245,000, per federal data. That's a steep discount from the median price of all existing homes, which rose to $417,700 in April 2026, reports the National Association of Realtors.
