Stewardship Thoughts
Religious Liberty: Liberty Magazine

"This principle we in our day are firmly to maintain. The banner of truth and religious liberty held aloft by the founders of the gospel church and by God's witnesses during the centuries that have passed since then, has, in this last conflict, been committed to our hands.  The responsibility for this great gift rests with those whom God has blessed with a knowledge of His word.  We are to receive this word as supreme authority.  We are to recognize human government as an ordinance of divine appointment, and teach obedience to it as a sacred duty, within its legitimate sphere.  But when its claims conflict with the claims of God, we must obey God rather than men.  God's word must be recognized as above all human legislation.  A 'Thus saith the Lord' is not to be set aside for a 'Thus saith the church' or a 'Thus saith the state,' The crown of Christ is to be lifted above the diadems of earthly potentates" (Ellen G. White, Acts of the Apostles, pp. 68,69).
Be Smart Health Ministries Worship Service
Jesus Team by Grace Daley

Grace will share her testimony of how she played professional basketball in the WNBA and for various European teams and then she answered Jesus' call to become obedient to the Sabbath.  Grace was convicted that keeping the Sabbath was incompatible with her basketball career.  She had come to a fork in the road and decided to end her career as a professional basketball player because the practices and games were on the Sabbath.  Grace states, "I had to make a choice, so I stepped out in faith and I chose God.  I came to the conclusion that God game me a gift that He expected me to use, but that gift wasn't basketball.  That gift was His Word, and contained in His Words are His commandments, and contained in His commandments is the Sabbath.  What the Sabbath did for me was change my focus.  Instead of trying to fit God into all the aspects of my life, I began to fit all the aspects of my life into God.  I concluded that anything that didn't fit, did not belong in my life so I eliminated it.  Playing professional basketball happened to be on that list of things that did not fit."

Don't miss this inspirational story on February 1st.
