From the Rector

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mary's,

This Sunday we will be celebrating the Feast of All Saints' . This service is an important tradition here at St. Mary's and it is a major feast day in the life of the church. It is a celebration of Resurrection as we remember all the Saints of the Church and all of our loved ones, friends, family members and neighbors who have entered into eternal life. Following the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., services we will be going out to the Churchyard to read the names of all those who are buried in this sacred space. At the 10:00 a.m. service the choir will be leading us in special music and hymns for this occasion. We are blessed to have organist Marsha Webster with us this Sunday. Marsha has over thirty years of experience playing the organ in churches and directing church choirs. Our neighbor, Kurt Majzner, will be playing the bagpipes and leading us out to the Churchyard. Following the service all are welcome to a festive coffee hour hosted by Claudia and Steve Siler, and Lorraine Taylor. Please join us for this celebration.

Our 2020 pledge campaign is well underway and I thank those of you who have already turned in your pledge cards.  We are asking that pledges be turned in by Sunday November 24, when we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with one 9:00 a.m. service and a pot luck brunch in the Great Hall.  Please sign up to bring a dish to share; the sign-up sheet is in the Great Hall. Let us gather to give thanks for all the blessings of this parish and of this life.

From November 1 through November 30 you can do your Christmas shopping online with Thirty One and 20% of the total cost will go directly to St. Mary's. Click here , and start shopping. If you don't want to shop online, Fran has catalogues available that you can look at during Coffee Hour.  This is a fund raiser for St. Mary's thanks to our neighbor Claudia Majzner, who sells Thirty One products.

Blessings,
Fran+

ReVive Center for Housing and Healing Christmas Basket Program

St. Mary's is once again participating in the ReVive Center's Christmas Basket Program. This is a wonderful opportunity for members of our Parish to purchase Jewel gift cards or shop for individual Christmas gifts for some of the most impoverished families of our metropolitan area. This year we have been asked to sponsor 8 families; a total of 28 individuals.

Please see the display in the Great Hall for complete details, and to sign up to purchase gifts or gift cards.  All gifts and gift cards are to be brought to St. Mary's by Sunday, December 1.

Please contact me if you have any questions.   Thank you to everyone for continuing to make this fun outreach ministry so meaningful and successful!

Cate Becker,
2019 Christmas Basket Ministry Coordinator
