A Message from The Principal
Dear Parents,

We have had a wonderful time celebrating World Languages Week. Students shared prayer spoken in a variety of languages, enjoyed, food and cultural activities and helped our community expand its’ horizons. Our students have certainly shown that they are learning through experiences both in and outside of the classroom. In addition, our 6th graders enjoyed an amazing Young People’s Concert by the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra held at the Zeiterion Theatre. The concert was the culmination of our participation in the Learning in Concert Program. This amazing educational program teaches students science concepts through music. Ms. Terry Wolkowicz, Program Director and members of the orchestra visited our school twice during the year. Students were taught the important concepts of recycle, reuse and repurpose and the impact on our environment by associating these concepts with the way in which composers recycle, reuse and repurpose musical notes. The experience was hands on, interactive and lots of fun!

Our Catholic faith is at the center of our school and this week we began the holy season of Lent with a beautiful Ash Wednesday liturgy celebrated by our school chaplin, Fr. Fred Babiczuk. Fr. Fred reminded us of the opportunities this season provides for us to grow closer to Christ. Each morning during Lent, we gather together in our High School foyer to begin the day in prayer. We are so fortunate to be able to bring these opportunities to our students and faculty. May God bless all of you during this holy season.

5th 6th Grade Ice Cream Social
Hello 5th and 6th grade parents,

Coming up on Friday March 22nd we have the 5th and 6th grade ice cream social and I am in need of some help. I was wondering if you would be willing to donate ice cream, whipped cream, toppings, cherries, spoons and bowls so make this event free for the students to attend, that would be wonderful. The event would be from 2 to 3:30 P.M. on the 22nd so if any of you could also come and help the teachers serve the ice cream that would be awesome! The social will include (besides ice cream)- music (dancing), games, activities for the students to build friendships both within their grade and beyond. If you could please email me ( ) letting me know what you’d be willing to bring or do to help this fun event be possible I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you, Ms. L

A Note From Campus Ministry
The season of Lent began on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, with Ash Wednesday and continues through Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. Lent is the great season during which we prepare to celebrate the paschal mystery (the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our participation in it) and the great feast of Easter. During this penitential season, we are more attentive to prayer and the word of God as we prepare ourselves for the renewal of our baptismal promises at Easter. There is also an emphasis on fasting and almsgiving during the 40 days of Lent. Our school will participate in Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl , to show our solidarity with those who are hungry in our world.

Some additional Lenten resources include:

Lenten Morning Prayer
Every morning during Lent at 7:25 A.M. in the high school foyer from March 6th through April 12th, a member from our school’s community will offer a daily prayer reflection. All will be invited to pin a Lenten prayer intention or a Lenten sacrifice to the large wooden cross in the foyer during this prayer experience. As a school community during these next six weeks, we will watch these prayer intentions and sacrifices grow. Please let Mrs. Payson know if you would like to read, sing or play an instrument during Lenten morning prayer.
