DIVISION SPOTLIGHT
ADMINISTRATION

Superintendent Dr. Joshua Medieros recently passed the accreditation exam and has joined a small group of early 250 professionals across the United States to have the title of Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE). The CRPE designation is the highest level of certification a park and recreation professional can achieve. CPRE represents the pinnacle of the profession which includes demonstrated leadership in all aspects of department management, mastering of policy development and the management of fiscal, property and personnel resources. We are thrilled to congratulate Joshua on this exciting accomplishment.

Deputy Superintendent, Sarah Larson, has been nominated for the National Parks and Recreation Association's 30 Under 30 list, a list published by the NRPA to recognize professionals under the age of 30 who are dominating the field of Parks and Recreation. Sarah not only attended both the Connecticut and National Recreation and Parks Association's conferences but spoke and lead group sessions at both conferences as well. Sarah is a Bristol native and she continues to show her expertise in the area of community service and goes above and beyond to give back to the Bristol community.

ALL-HEART PARK PACK PROGRAM MOVES TO WAITLIST

Developed by the departments’ recreation staff, the new All-Heart Park Packs program allows families to participate in programming on their own time while learning and developing new skills. The All-Heart Park Packs will contain a collection of items that an individual can do at their home to help limit activities and gathering in public areas. The Park Packs provide a variety of screen-free activities centered on science, art, nature, creative thinking, and physical activities. Children and families will be able to tap into virtual resources, printed guides, and their imagination. Following a surge in registrations,
The All-Heart Park Pack is currently accepting registrants to the waitlist.
