Wishing everyone headed back to school a great year ahead!
We hope this school year is full of good lessons, old friends and new, wonderful memories, adventurous new beginnings, and lots of fun!
We waved goodbye to Summer over the past week and packed our bags for the classroom! At Brackett Park we played games, danced, and celebrated a spectacular Summer.
At Muzzy Field we held the Mayor's Annual Pencil Hunt, where over 300 kids scoured the outfield on the ultimate hunt for school supplies.
NEW PROGRAMS BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER
Art-ventures with Penguins and Polar Bears

Ages 5 - 10: Sculpt clay polar bears and penguins, build sand castle lighthouses, create shimmery sea jellies out of recycled materials, and more! Participants will explore various art techniques including decoupage, collage, and stained glass, all while learning fun facts about endangered creatures and the importance of being kind to our earth and oceans.

Simply Paint and Sip

Spend time with friends, have a fun date night, or treat yourself with Simply Sip & Paint. Enjoy creating a beautiful painting with step-by-step directions from a professional artist. This class is accessible for painters of all experience levels. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

All participants must have a valid ID (21+).

Mad Science Inventions – Eureka

Ages 6 - 10: Explore famous inventors such as Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Archimedes, Ben Franklin and even Rube Goldberg! Each week, Junior Inventors will use their knowledge and creativity to overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors, and most important of all – their minds!

MINI HOOPS
Next Session begins September 14

This program will introduce participants ages 3 - 5 to the sport of basketball on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Participants will learn skills and techniques in a friendly, safe, and fun environment. Lessons will be conducted utilizing skill-building activities and games.

LEARN TO SWIM (LTS)
Next Session begins September 19

Swimming lessons are an essential part of a child's education. Being able to swim properly increases confidence which makes time in the water an enjoyable and safe experience. In addition, swimming is a healthy, total fitness activity that lasts a lifetime. Our Learn to Swim programs are taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors with an enthusiasm and dedication to helping children and adults achieve their swimming goals.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
Thursdays - 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Stocks Playground

Teams will participate in a fun and competitive 7- week co-ed outdoor volleyball league. Teams of 6- 8 are welcome with the requirement that 2 female players are on the court at all times. A recreational league and competitive league will be offered based on interest.

CO-ED FLAG FOOTBALL
Fridays - 6:00 and 7:15 pm
Chippens Hill Middle School 

Participants in 3rd through 8th grade will be introduced to the game of football while utilizing flags. On Friday evenings, players will work on basic football skills such as passing, catching, offense, and defense in a safe and fun environment. Each week, new teams will be formed to give players a chance to socialize with everyone in the program.

Kite Building & Flying - Nelson's Field
Saturday, September 4

We’ll be catching the breeze at Nelson’s Field on Saturday, September 4! Join us as we assemble our own kites to fill the sky will colorful creations. Kite assembly expresses creativity in a constructive manner. Kite building is for kids of all ages and we have different kits for different age groups and different abilities. Kiters are welcome to bring their own kite as well. BPRYCS staff will also will be flying some fun kites for all to enjoy. Learn More

Family Camp Out - Muzzy Field
Saturday, September 18
Begins at 6:00 pm
Registration now open! Enjoy a night sleeping under the stars at Muzzy Field. We will provide a host of activities including lawn games, family activities, and a PG rated movie when it’s dark! BPRYCS staff will help you set up your tent, provide the snacks and a breakfast treat, and lead a night time program. Bring your blankets, pajamas, flashlights and lanterns and get ready for a great time in the outdoors with family and friends. Space is limited, register early! Each household/registrant will have an assigned space. We invite all Bristol community members to join us as we say goodbye to summer with the final All-Heart Pop-Up Park event! Learn More

PONY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS RECOGNIZED

The Eagles defeated the Bees 8-6 Friday night (8/20/2021) at Muzzy Field to take home the 2021 Scott/McCooey Pony League Championship. The Eagles (4-seed) battled in the single-elimination tournament, taking down the 5-seed, the 1-seed, and ultimately the 2-seed to win the championship.
