The City of Bristol Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services (BPRYCS) is seeking nominations for the 2021 Youth Recognition Awards and 29th Annual Youth Service Recognition Day. Each year, Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, BPRYCS, and the Bristol Youth Commission highlight and celebrate the young people who go above and beyond to serve the Bristol community. 
Youth and youth groups may be nominated by adults that benefited from a community service project or volunteerism of a Bristol young person between March 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021.

COLD SNAP TRANSFORMS ROCKWELL PARK LAGOON INTO WINTER WONDERLAND!

Did you miss our ice skating pop-up event? No worries because Rockwell Park Lagoon remains open for ice skating (dawn to dusk) 7 days a week! Grab some skates, a friend and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Closing will be subject to weather and ice conditions. Exercise caution, supervise children, wear a mask and practice social distancing when others are on the pond. Happy skating!

BEST TEEN NIGHT - CD DECORATING

Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together (BEST) is holding their first in-person Teen Night Social of the year! Join BEST on March 3rd for a Socially Distanced CD Decorating Paint Night at Park Pavilion. Please keep in mind that ALL participants MUST wear a mask at ALL times!

ADULT CO-ED PICKLE BALL

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, badminton, and ping pong and is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. It’s easy to learn for beginners and can evolve into more competitive and fast-placed play for more experienced players The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players!

MAN UP

A confidential support group for young men to discuss issues, receive support, develop new skills and form positive relationships with peers, mentors, and family. Participants will develop an understanding of male socialization messages, as well as learn skills and techniques to manage stress and reduce reactive aggressive responses.

BANANAS SPLIT, TOO!

Bananas Split, Too! is an 11 week educational support group designed to help children and families understand their feelings about divorce or changes that have occurred within the family structure. The group provides a safe environment that allows each child to feel comfortable to share openly and express their fears without negativity.

LEARNING THROUGH READING

BPRYCS is hosting a FREE 8-week reading and storytelling program now though April 12, 2021.
Join us as we explore reading through imaginative play, storytelling, and stimulating activities. Toddlers will explore sounds, words, and language as stories are read aloud.

MEN'S SOFTBALL LEAGUE

The 2021 Men's Softball League is for individuals 18 & older and will run April 12th through June 18th. Each team is guaranteed 18 regular season games (8 doubleheaders), and the top 8 teams (out of 10) make the playoffs. Games take place Monday-Thursday evenings at Mix St. in Bristol and each team will have one doubleheader every week.

MEN'S 40 & OVER SOFTBALL LEAGUE

The 2021 Men's 40-and-Over Softball League is for individuals 40 years of age & older and will begin on April 18th. There will be 8 weekends of regular season games, plus a week of playoffs. Each team is guaranteed 16 regular season games (8 doubleheaders), and all teams make the playoffs. 

VIRTUAL - PILATES AND YOGA FUSION

Tone and tighten your core while improving your posture, body awareness, and flexibility! Combine the core stabilization of Pilates, with the postures from yoga to strengthen your mind and body. This class is for beginners all the way up to advanced so please do not be afraid to give it a try!
