June 21, 2021

We're gearing up for this year's free “Rockin' Out at Rockwell: Summer Concert Series!" Concerts will be held at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater. There are seats but audience members are invited to bring lawn chairs and a blanket to enjoy a picnic in the park. For those looking for dinner, a different food truck will join us in the park each week, brought to you by the West End Association of Bristol.

On Tuesday, June 26, the Summer Kick-Off Concert will feature Darik and the Funbags performing pop and today’s hits. In conjunction with Art in the Park, there will be children’s entertainment and art activities.

Grab your family, friends, and neighbors this summer for FREE Movie Nights at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy movies on the big screen under the stars. Movie nights take place on Friday evenings beginning at 8:30 pm.

We're seeking the aid of a “Green Team” of volunteers to help clean up Page Park on June 26th! Bristol Green Team volunteers should plan to meet at 9 AM by the Page Park Pond. Volunteers will then be divided into teams to compete to see which can collect the most trash and recyclable litter. We provide all of the supplies.

Turn the screens off and put down the electronics for a new twist on an old fashion evening of games at Mrs. Rockwell's Pavilion on Sunday, June 27. Compete against family, friends, and neighbors! We will have new games, classic games, and giant games! There will be a wide range of games to serve varying age groups.

Art Instruction Classes are offered for all ages and ability levels Monday - Thursday beginning in July! Each week students will work on projects and explore numerous mediums and techniques. Both 2-D AND 3-D art are available! Participating in the arts is one of the best ways for children to express their creativity and individual personalities.

Sharpen your knife skills, learn new time saving techniques, and create delicious dishes in this one hour class. Ingredients will be delivered to your door (or picked up from the BPRYCS office) each week so you can cook along as you watch and learn how to create healthy entrees for the entire family and even desserts!

Join us for a Culinary workshop with ShopRight of Bristol Dietitians Lauren and Jessica. Tiny Chefs provides a fun, exciting and unique atmosphere for our participants to develop hands on skills and techniques to be creative within a safe and controlled environment. Parent supervision is recommended during class and activities.

Join us at Page Park Pool this summer for an exciting new program that will feature a different book each week to be read "story time style". Splash time will follow, with an opportunity to enjoy our newest zero-depth pool entry and spray features along with a chance to explore our new "sensory swim bags" that are now available for use at each aquatics facility. This program is designed for children ages: 5-9. All participants must register ahead of time although, is FREE of charge.

Join the Youth & Community Services Division for an 8-week reading and storytelling program as we explore reading through imaginative play, reading aloud and stimulating activities. Toddlers will explore sounds, words, and language as stories are read aloud.
