POOLS ARE OPEN!

The summer swim season has officially begun! This past Saturday, June 26, Rockwell Pool and the newly renovated Page Pool opened their doors to the public. Pool memberships are available through August and include access to three pools. Daily swim fees will be in effect and residents will be asked to present proper ID to prove proof of residency. 

Both outdoor pools will be open daily for public swim from 1:00 to 7:00 PM with learn to swim lessons available in the mornings.

Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services has partnered with the Main Street Community Foundation's Broad View Fund in order to bring free "Pop-Up" events to neighborhood parks in order to strengthen families and neighbors, engage underutilized spaces to enhance visibility and safety, and strengthen the sense of community for all residents - regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.

SUMMER CAMP IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY

Today marked the first day of Summer Camp for many local youth. Summer camp is offered through August 13th to Bristol youth ages 3 - 15. NEW this year, we are implementing before and after care at both Little Explorers & Summer Fun Camp!

This program provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment in which children can make new friends, enjoy new activities, create works of art, learn new things, and experience age-appropriate independence. Camp is held at the Mountain View Elementary School.

Summer Fun Camp includes arts and crafts, games, indoor and outdoor activities, special events and swimming. Summer Fun camp is held at Stafford Elementary School.

Get your teens engaged this summer with weekly excursions, field trips, and entertainment. Teens are dropped off at Bristol Eastern High School.
Opening Act begins at 6:00 pm
Mass-Conn-Fusion goes on at 6:30 PM.
CONCERTS AT ROCKWELL

The seven-piece band features exciting vocals, polished horns and a funky rhythm section. They're sure to get the Amphitheater grooving with with Funk, Disco, Motown, R&B, and songs from the 60's right up to today's top hits!

MOVIE NIGHT IN THE PARK

Grab your family, friends, and neighbors this summer for FREE Movie Nights at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy movies on the big screen under the stars. Movie nights take place on Friday evenings beginning at 8:30 pm.

Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. However, when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned, and it's up to a lone warrior to track down the last dragon and stop the Druun for good.

GREEN TEAM AT CASEY FIELD

We're seeking the aid of a “Green Team” of volunteers to help clean up Casey Field and Stocks Playground on July 31st! Bristol Green Team volunteers should plan to meet at 9 AM by the Basketball Courts. Volunteers will then be divided into teams to compete to see which can collect the most trash and recyclable litter. We provide all of the supplies.

NEON NIGHTS FLOAT NIGHT

Our sixth annual NEON NIGHTS at Rockwell Park is coming back on Friday, August 13th from 6pm-9pm! The brightest bash in the neighborhood will feature an array of colorful events, including glowing pool, live DJ, foam party, drone dome, and "light up lounge". Admission is $5.00 per person. Please register in advance.

AQUATICS & RECREATION PROGRAMS
PILATES AND YOGA FUSION

This outdoor class (Tuesdays/Thursday 6:00 - 7:00 PM) helps tone and tighten your core which will improve not only your posture but your body awareness and flexibility! The class combines the focus on core stabilization of Pilates with the postures from yoga to flow through movements in order to work your whole body while also giving you strength of both mind and body. Skill levels range from beginner to advanced.

DANCE CLASSES

Our youth dance classes allow your child to learn and express themselves through the art of dance in a fun-filled environment. All classes will be taught at the beginner level, allowing your child to learn traditional dance steps associated with their specific class. Music will be child friendly. 

SKYHAWKS TINY HAWK CAMP - Soccer & Basketball

Designed for ages 3-4, this program highlights the essentials of soccer and basketball by introducing sport in a fun and safe environment with lots of encouragement. Children will learn balance, body movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development through a series of sports-specific games tailored to their attention spans.

SPLISH SPLASH STORY TIME

Join us at Page Park Pool this summer for an exciting new program that will feature a different book each week to be read "story time style". Splash time will follow, with an opportunity to enjoy our newest zero-depth pool entry and spray features along with a chance to explore our new "sensory swim bags" that are now available for use at each aquatics facility. This program is designed for children ages: 5-9. All participants must register ahead of time although, is FREE of charge.

YOUTH AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
LEARNING THROUGH BOOKS

Join the Youth & Community Services Division for an 8-week reading and storytelling program as we explore reading through imaginative play, reading aloud and stimulating activities. Toddlers will explore sounds, words, and language as stories are read aloud.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

Please join us in congratulating Ron Dionne, Aquatics Facilities Maintenance Technician for his selection as June’s Employee Spotlight. Ron consistently displays an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude and overall drive to make the Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services department better. At the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center, the patrons continuously comment on the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility. Most recently, Ron has gone above and beyond at Rockwell and Page Pool ensuring the facilities are in premier shape for inspections, events, and grand openings. Thank you Ron!

Concerts will be held outdoors at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater. There are seats available but audience members are invited to bring lawn chairs and a blanket to settle in for a fun evening in the park. For those looking for dinner, a different food truck will join us in the park each week, brought to you by the West End Association of Bristol.
