A Message from Pastor Davis

Today we start Holy week with the reading of the Passion beginning with Jesus' triumphal ride into Jerusalem on the back of a colt. He comes into Jerusalem with shouts for the king of "Hosanna, Hosanna" but leaves Jerusalem at the end of the week with "Crucify Him." Our savior Jesus Christ is both King and sacrificial lamb. He is the one who has all authority even over His own body. He has authority to lay it down and authority to raise it up. As we begin our journey through Holy Week, we make our way to the cross, to the tomb, and finally to the resurrection. We trust in His promise that His resurrection is our resurrection.

Matthew 21:3 – “If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” Did Jesus really need the donkey? If the man had refused to give the donkey would the work of salvation have been derailed? Of course not. But what an honor for the man who owned this donkey and foal! It is likewise with us. The Lord needs none of us, but what an honor it is for God to choose to use our generosity in the work of His church.

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed

The BCS would like to invite you to take a Sunday and host coffee hour. It does not need to be fancy and only a couple of items are needed. It is nice to have a bite to eat as we socialize with our church friends. Harry takes care of all aspects of the coffee- set up and clean up. There is a yearlong sign-up sheet on the door in the Gathering Room. If you have any questions, please talk to a BCS member. Thank you for considering this fun opportunity.

TLA Awarded LWML Grant!

Trinity Lutheran Academy has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) to help with security issues such as locks and gates. The grant comes from the mite boxes we send to the Florida-Georgia District to support missions like our TLA outreach to the community. TLA says thank you to Trinity for supporting us through your mites!

Aluminum Can Recycling

This is a reminder that Trinity recycles aluminum cans (drink cans only). The receptacles are located in the fenced area behind the Fellowship Hall kitchen. You can’t miss it - there is a sign posted on the gate - just toss your bagged cans (squash them if you can, but it’s ok if you can’t). Proceeds go to Trinity Youth Group.
