● Children’s House: 2:45 – 3:00 PM

● Lower Elementary: 3:00 – 3:15 PM

● Upper Elementary: 3:15 – 3:30 PM

● Adolescent Program: 3:30 – 3:45 PM

● Toddler Program 3:45 – 4:00 PM

We ask that elementary level parents not arrive early for pick up due to traffic considerations. Our parking lot cannot accommodate all of the extra cars, and excess traffic on Route 138 is dangerous. Please, if you are early, park at the Trailside Museum until it’s time to pick up your child; you and your fellow parents will be safer and pick-up will run more smoothly.

Staggered Arrivals for Delayed Starts

In order to move the flow of traffic in a safe and efficient manner, we are announcing a staggered arrival schedule for days that Thacher delays school due to inclement weather.

The schedule is as follows:

For a 2-hour delay : 

9:00 - 9:15 am — LE, UE, AP

9:15 - 9:30 am — Toddler

9:20 - 9:40 am — CH 

 

For a 3-hour delay:

10:00 - 10:15 am — LE, UE, AP

10:15 - 10:30 am — Toddler

10:20 -10:40 am — CH

 

In the event that the school needs to close early, there will be a staggered pickup announced on the day of the closing, as determined by the situation (i.e. inclement weather, power outage, etc.). These announcements will continue to be shared with parents via the normal communication methods of text alerts, emails, and social media.

Pizza Lunches - Time to Reorder

Our next pizza session starts February 5 and runs until the end of the school year. It's time reorder if you want your child to have pizza for lunch on Wednesdays.

Science Fair Reminder

Thacher's annual Science Fair is coming up on Thursday, March 12. It's time for students to plan their projects. Fourth-graders have specific project instructions (see below). Fifth through eighth-graders should select a topic by January 31st.

Base Camp | 2/13 & 2/14

Thacher's Parent Council is partnering with New England Base Camp for Thacher School days off on February 13 And 14. (Ages 5 and up.) Students will have access to the facilities at the Camp located on Unquity Road (5 minutes from Thacher).

Programs include: nature activities, STEM programming, crafts (basket making, weaving, art) The cost is $40 a day, per child (8:30 am - 3:30 pm) or $100 for all three days.
