Trex Recycling Program Resumed

Thacher Adolescents are resuming the Trex recycling program. Trex takes plastic that cannot be recycled with your other household items and turns it into decking material. Trex helps reduce the amount of plastic that is plaguing our natural world. See the attached brochure for a list of items that can be disposed of through this program.

Drop your items in the box outside of the school near the front door, or send them with your child to be placed in one of the boxes inside the school. If the box outside is full, please do not place bags beside the box or on top. Please wait until the box is empty or send them inside to be discarded.

Thank you for your participation in this project.

Thacher Diversity Corner
A Resource from the Thacher Diversity Committee

We are currently experiencing a time in which we are forced to face the problem of racism in our country. The ongoing protests, frequent news about the brutality against people of color, and open conversations about racism are highlighting the dark history of our past making the ugly truth hard to ignore.

Through all of this, our children continue to absorb the world around them. They learn from our words and actions as we navigate through these difficult times. It is important that we help them develop an educated understanding about race and racism.

Talking to children about this topic is often difficult. Fortunately, there are many resources out there to help. Here's one from the PBS Teachers Lounge to help with this challenge.
