Update from the Nurse
For those of you following daily reporting of COVID-19 positive cases, you have probably noticed an increase in numbers over the last two and a half weeks both locally and nationally. Depending on the geographical area, 50%-60% of the people that tested positive have been between the ages of 18 - 29 years old.

We must remain vigilant against the spread of COVID-19. Here at Thacher, we are not letting our guard down. I am happy to say that our Thacher community has done an outstanding job at adopting our many new Covid-19 driven procedures and protocols.

There is quite a bit of information in our Re-entry Plan, on the Thacher website under Thacher's "Nurse's Corner." As expected, the fall still brings about common cold and virus symptoms. I am grateful and impressed to have a community of parents and guardians doing a fantastic job following the daily attestation protocol and keeping children home when necessary. We must all continue to do our part to ensure that the number of cases decreases. This includes continuing to practice social distancing, wearing a mask, sanitizing hands, and following the Governor's mandate on gatherings when we are not here at Thacher.

As always, I am happy to have a conversation if you have any concerns. I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Nurse Carolynn Moore
