Parent/Teacher Conferences - In-Person or Zoom | October 27 and 28
You should have received an email notifying you that it is time to book your Parent/Teacher Conference.
Childcare during your 30-minute conference will be available for Thacher students only on Thursday afternoon and Friday. Childcare hours are 12:00 - 4:30 pm on Thursday and 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on Friday. If your conference time falls outside these hours, childcare will not be available.

Open House - October 29, 10:30 - noon

Pizza Day is Back!
To receive pizza on November 2, we need your order by Friday, October 28.
The first session starts November 2 and runs until January 4. You are welcome to order pizza for students in all classes - pizza will be delivered to classrooms at lunchtime and served with a piece of fresh fruit.
Please place one pizza order for the entire session.

Plastic Film Recycling is Back!
The Middle School is excited to continue the Trex recycling program! Look for bins around the school and outside the front door to recycle your plastic items. Click on the image on the right for more information about this program.
This is a Middle School Community Service Project. We appreciate the school-wide community joining us in recycling and reducing plastic in our environment.

New England Base Camp during Professional & Vacation Days
Thacher's Family Network is partnering with New England Base Camp for Thacher School days off on 10/28, 12/19-23, 1/3, 2/17, 3/17, and 4/24 of the 2022-23 school year. The Camp is for children five and up. If you plan on signing up for the October 28 date, please do so soon. NE Basecamp must meet a minimum number of kids to run the program.
During these days, students will enjoy the facilities at the Camp located on Unquity Road (5 minutes from Thacher). Nature activities, STEM programming, crafts, and more are included. The cost is $50 a day per child (8-3:15). Please bring your snack and lunch.

Come Pumpkin Picking with Us
The TFN invites you to join Thacher families for an informal meet-up at Wards Berry Farm for pumpkin picking on Saturday, October 22, from 9-11 am. The farm has tractor rides, a fun playground, a farm store, etc. We plan to take a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch and play on the playground! Please RSVP HERE

Hike in the Blue Hills with the Adults
Please join us for an adult hike in the Blue Hills every other Our next hike is Wednesday, October 26. Meet in the parking lot across from school after drop off around 8:40 am.
We will pause for deer hunting season after the October 26 hike and resume on 11/30. For questions, please contact TFN co-chairs Daniela Field and Kirsten Glynn.
Play with the Kids
Head over to Houghton's Pond after school on Fridays to let your kids run and play. See you there!

Thacher's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee is excited to begin meeting again. The first meeting will be on Zoom at 5 pm on October 26. We would love to have more parents from all levels and are searching for a co-chair.

Toiletry Donations
Through the end of October, Nurse Carolynn's daughters are collecting toiletries to donate to local domestic violence shelters. If you have any unopened toiletries you would like to donate (i.e., toothpaste, soap, shampoo, feminine products, chapstick), there will be a drop box at the front desk and right outside Nurse Carolynn's office. Thank you!
