Words Matter: What does it mean to be an Ally vs. a Co-conspirator?

This video, in which Dr. Bettina Love uses the story of Bree Newsome and James Tyson to explain that Co-conspirators, like the abolitionist movement of our nation’s history, are based on the premise of trust and love. She challenges those who consider themselves to be allies to “put something on the line for somebody,” “take a risk,” and to “cash-out” when it comes to using your privilege to take action, not just talk the talk. Reflect and consider, when it “comes time”, when the opportunity presents itself, will you have it in you to be more than just an ally? Do you have what it takes to be a Co-conspirator? And if not, how do you get there?
