Note from Deba

Winter Greeting Thacher Community,

As we break for our winter holiday, our thoughts turn to shared time with family and other loved ones. Many of us enjoy the snowy wonderland of New England and all that it offers, while others long for the tropics' warmth and sun. Whatever your heart longs for, please remember to pursue your activities while making wise and cautious choices to stay healthy. Please remain vigilant in maintaining appropriate social distance, not attending large gatherings, keeping numbers small when indoors, and continuing to wear your mask. Wash your hands and sanitize frequently.

I wish you a very happy holiday in the ways your family chooses to celebrate and acknowledge this beautiful Solstice Season. Find joy in this season and joy in our hope for good things to come.

I look forward to your return on January 5, 2021, when we will all be looking for a more uplifting and positive New Year and beyond.

In partnership and celebration,

Deba Dunn

As we begin Winter Break, we are aware that family gatherings can be a spot to discuss current events and social issues. In case you are wondering how to respond to topics of race and racism that may come up with your child, PBS has gathered an excellent array of resources that can be found here: Talking to Young Children About Race and Racism

We encourage you to browse these excellent articles, activities, and videos. May you find inspiring and helpful tips to promote communication and connection between all family members.
