Dear Thacher Families,
Last evening, I attended a webinar sponsored by Princeton Montessori School to hear guest lecturer Catherine McTamaney, author of The Tao of Montessori – Reflections on Compassionate Teaching. In the midst of this year of living in a global pandemic with all the stresses and anxieties that accompany such a year, her presentation was inspiring and rejuvenating. How wonderful it was to be reminded of the Montessori philosophy's power and how it is so very applicable to the times in which we live. I want to share some of these thoughts on Montessori philosophy and provide you with resources to explore in future Notes Home. Stay tuned!
Immediately following the February break, we begin our Virtual Next Level meetings for families who have children moving up to a new level. These are informative and important meetings with the guides, so I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Re-enrollment contracts will be sent to families later this evening and will be due back on February 26. Attending the Next Level events will assist families in making an informed decision on returning to Thacher. Come learn about our programs and the new opportunities your child will experience at the next level.
I hope you can find quality time with your children during our February break. I also hope you schedule some very chilly but short walks outside with the kids and follow that up with something warm and yummy for their tummies. I appreciate all of you and your resilience in getting through the most challenging year ever.
