Note from the Head of School

Thank you to everyone for the many responses to the Thacher mask policy survey; I very much appreciate your timely participation.

As you know, Nurse Carolynn tirelessly monitors daily Covid information and data to ensure that our Health Committee makes informed decisions for the safety of our Thacher Community. After a thorough review, we feel comfortable at this time to move to a mask-optional protocol. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that next week, March 14 -18, is the last week that masks are required indoors at Thacher Montessori School.

Beginning Monday, March 21, the Thacher Mask-Optional Protocol begins.

Nurse Carolynn and I will offer a Zoom meeting to those who want to hear more about the committee's decision to implement the Mask-Optional protocol. An announcement for the time and date of this Zoom is forthcoming.

While we are moving forward with relaxing restrictions, please maintain a healthy environment and always be respectful of anyone who chooses to wear a mask. Our Thacher Community persevered these last two years, supporting each other in a difficult time. Your partnership with us in supporting the children and each other is evident.

We are looking forward to seeing beautiful, smiling faces once again!

Dear Thacher families,

As you know, there are many refugees from Ukraine that had to leave their homes with nothing because of the Russian invasion. The UEB community would like to collect items to help the refugees. We will be collecting basic medical supplies and essential toiletries. For example:

Maxi Pads/Tampons
Deodorant
Diapers
Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Hairbrushes.
Soap, Shampoo
Toilet Paper
First Aid Items such as Band-Aids, Antibacterial Cream or Spray, Gauze, Gauze Tape
Baby wipes and Baby Powder

The UEB Community will be placing donation bins around the school. One will be outside by the front doors, and the other will be in the lobby area by the art room. The bins will be out from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 18.

What is it? Why do we do it?

Parent/Guide Conferences - Zoom or In-Person | April 15 and 25

We are excited to welcome parents back to campus during our upcoming Parent/Guide Conferences. Parents can choose to have their Conference via Zoom or In-Person.

Appointments will be available in the afternoon on Friday, April 15, and all-day Monday, April 25. We will notify you when it is your turn to book your conference. The schedule will open first to parents who need to have Kelly Altieri present. Sharyn will contact these families and schedule appointments for them. Families with multiple children will be notified next when it is their turn to book their conference through our online app. Families with one child will receive an email when the schedule is open to them.

2022/23 Calendar

We are currently preparing the 2022-23 academic calendar. This is completed in 3-tiers. Tier 1 reflects the start/end dates and vacations and is available now.

Tier 2 adds an additional set of events, and tier 3 completes and reflects the finished calendar. As was the case this year, the calendar will remain fluid due to COVID-19, and we will add in other important additions as restrictions lift.
