Note from the Head of School

Happy Spring weekend to the Thacher community,

Please pay special attention to Nurse Carolynn's notice below. In addition to the information that Carolyn provides, the following changes for students will begin next Monday, March 21:

Three-foot distancing is no longer required
Assigned seating optional
Afternoon art and music resumes in those spaces (no studio offerings yet)

Note From Nurse Carolynn

Dear Thacher Families,

Massachusetts school requirements for masking and distancing were removed over two weeks ago and replaced by the choice to continue in individual municipalities. We watched the trends and assessed how those changes affected infection rates. We are pleased to say those changes have not increased transmission rates in schools; therefore, we are relaxing many of our Covid-19 restrictions.

On Monday, March 21st, the Thacher community will transition to “mask optional.” We are looking forward to seeing smiling faces while respecting the choice of those continuing to wear a mask.

We will revert to the attestation plan we started in September, replacing the more restrictive one now in place. Please move forward using this new daily attestation.

We continue to be vigilant with cleaning protocols and assessing student health. Please email me if your child is out of school for any reason.

UEB Ukraine Fundraiser

Dear Families,

The UEB community is raising money for Ukrainian refugees. We are going to sell note cards designed by our class. Each piece of artwork has a national symbol of Ukraine on it. We are selling bundles of eleven cards for $25. Each bundle will include one design made by every student in our class. All money raised will go to UNICEF, a foundation dedicated to helping children.

Parent/Guide Conferences - Zoom or In-Person | April 15 and 25

We are excited to welcome parents back to campus during our upcoming Parent/Guide Conferences. Parents may choose to have their Conference via Zoom or In-Person.

Appointments will be available in the afternoon on Friday, April 15, and all-day Monday, April 25. We will notify you by email when it is your turn to book your conference.

National Women's History Month

March is National Women's History Month. There is a rich, overlapping history of Women's Day, Week, and Month--celebrated both Nationally and Internationally in March. This article covers this history and reminds us of inspiring women in leadership, arts, and more. It is nice to have an invitation to stop and reflect on how we celebrate the contributions of women and girls--in our families, communities, and the world.
