Note from the Head of School

I am excited to announce that my colleague and friend Assistant Head of School Michelle Seyller, was elected to the American Montessori Society's (AMS) Board of Directors. Michelle will begin her three-year term this July. She will also continue her work on the AMS School Accreditation Commission (SAC), serving a three-year term as Chair. Please join me in congratulating Michelle on these accomplishments.

Way to represent Thacher and the Montessori Global Community, Michelle!

"Buy Nothing"

One person’s trash is another’s treasure: consider joining a “Buy Nothing” group. Post items you don’t need anymore to give them another life, and scan recent posts if you’re in the market for something before buying new. There are groups in many Boston neighborhoods, Milton, Canton, and numerous other towns - most operate with a Facebook group.

In response to parents reaching out to schedule sex ed and digital health workshops, MaxwellEd is launching a new series of online peer groups—Let’s Talk: A Series of Peer Groups for Teens and Pre-Teens.

Each of these groups will consist of three one-hour sessions. Students will meet with peers of similar ages:10-13 year-olds or 14-16 year-olds.

Century Ride for Best Buddies
Our IT Director Andrea Dietrich plans to ride 100 miles on June 4 to support the Best Buddies Challenge. Best Buddies' programs help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) find employment opportunities, friendships, and inclusive communities.

All donations are most welcome.
