Note from the Head of School

I am excited to announce that my colleague and friend Assistant Head of School Michelle Seyller, was elected to the American Montessori Society's (AMS) Board of Directors. Michelle will begin her three-year term this July. She will also continue her work on the AMS School Accreditation Commission (SAC), serving a three-year term as Chair. Please join me in congratulating Michelle on these accomplishments.

Way to represent Thacher and the Montessori Global Community, Michelle!

UEA is excited to announce its Ukraine fundraiser event. Join us from 3:45 - 4:45 at Houghton’s Pond playground Friday, May 20th. The playground is a public space, and all Thacher families are welcome.

Artwork made by UEA students–including a pillow set, pottery, blanket, banner, Ukrainian bird portraits, and paintings–will be available for a silent auction.

For families who wish to attend, there is a suggested donation of $5 per adult and $3 per child. This donation includes pizza and chips. Families are welcome to give more if they can, and everyone is welcome regardless of their ability to pay. Pay with cash at the event or in advance by clicking here. All proceeds will go to UNICEF.

"Buy Nothing"

One person’s trash is another’s treasure: consider joining a “Buy Nothing” group. Post items you don’t need anymore to give them another life, and scan recent posts if you’re in the market for something before buying new. There are groups in many Boston neighborhoods, Milton, Canton, and numerous other towns - most operate with a Facebook group.
