Note from Deba
Welcome new and returning families to the first full week of school! I'm excited to see you and your children, and we look forward to a year of partnership and engagement in support of their growth.

As you've driven on campus, I hope you noticed, not only the newly painted school but, the new landscaping. These improvements are the first of a three-year project to expand the Arielle Da Costa Memorial Gardens. We are also preparing for the celebration of 50 years of Thacher Montessori School coming up in 2021.

The guides have prepared themselves and their classrooms to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of your children. Always feel free to reach out to Michelle, me, or your guide with questions to continue forging a strong partnership between school and home. I also encourage you to participate in as many school activities as your schedule allows. Events such as potluck dinners, curriculum review, looking at the next level for your child - all will prove beneficial in deepening your understanding of the unique and stimulating environment Thacher offers.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday at our Back to School Potluck Picnic hosted by our Thacher Parent Council.

As always in partnership,
Deba

Pizza Wednesday's Begin September 25

The AP Pizza Company is organizing our popular Pizza Wednesdays again this year. Parents will have a choice of gluten-free or regular dough pizza. (Gluten-free pizzas are thinner and smaller and priced accordingly on the order form.)

Please place one order for the whole session that runs from 9/25 - 1/29. Lunch includes pizza and fresh fruit. Lead Guides will provide water as a beverage.
Plastic Recycling

Once again, students in the Adolescent Program will be recycling plastic bags and films. Families are encouraged to participate by sending in clean, dry plastic bags. There is a box in the entryway of the school and one in the upstairs hallway.

Trex Recycling turns these bags into decking, keeping hundreds of pounds of waste out of landfills!
