From Tr. Neal
Thank you to each of you for helping all of us at Lansdowne Friends make it through this challenging year. As the wording on the cover of this year’s yearbook aptly proclaims, “We survived 2020 AND THRIVED!” Together, we not only managed to keep our children and staff safe, but we lived up to our timeless mission--under trying and uncertain circumstances--to keep the kids engaged both academically and socially. This took our entire “village” … both your flexibility, fortitude, and adaptability at home and the teachers’ and administrators' creativity, resilience, collaboration, and courage here at school. As I begin to reflect on this year-to-end-all-years, my immediate emotion is one of gratitude.
I’m sure in the days to come, I will have more fully-formed thoughts and reflections about this past year to share. I also will continue to welcome your reflections and insights, both about what we as a school did successfully and where there is room for continued growth and improvement in the coming year.
For now, with the “glow” of this week’s poignant graduation fresh (our 6th graders were incredible!), along with all the other end-of-year events and goodbyes, I’ll simply wish everyone a wonderful, safe, and boringly “normal” summer. Boring never sounded so good!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any thoughts or questions, as always. I’ll be around much of the summer and would be happy to connect.
