Pre-K Gathering and Finale of Cross Country
Gathering Hosted by Pre-K
Pre-K had a busy month! They watched butterflies and silkworms hatch, they learned a song about flowers and sang it in Spanish, and each student wrote and illustrated a book!
Wow, great work, Pre-K. Thanks, Tr. Kathi.
School Photo Packets
Hi everyone!
Thanks so much to everyone who sent in a check for school photos -- the packets of photos are in your student's back pack.

Thanks so much!

The McKenzie Promising Futures Fund
Leon McKenzie '86, Joleen McKenzie and his Promising Futures Scholarship Fund team visited LFS virtually to recognize McKenzie Scholarship winners. This was the seventh year of the McKenzie Promising Futures Scholarship Program at LFS!

The Fund awarded seven students partial scholarships for their LFS tuition. We thank Leon and Joleen for their generosity and dedication to the Lansdowne Friends School community.
5th and 6th Graders Take an Infrastructure Tour with Carol Martsolf
Alumni parent, School Committee member, and Civil Engineer, Carol Martsolf, did not have to walk the class very far in order to begin explaining what black and white numbered signs mean, and why they ARE black and white. And why detour signs are orange (second longest light wave after red). And what that tiny nail in the sidewalk means. The world is full of amazing things. Thanks, Tr. Carol and Tr. Jen!
Dear LFS Families,

It's time to return any library books your child checked out from the library bag given to your child's classroom teacher. Please make sure all library books are returned A.S.A.P.!

If you have any questions, please email me at: jmurray@lansdownefriendsschool.org

Thank you!
Final Cross Country Practice
A good run, donuts and Capri Sun, and finally, a few "slips" into the creek = a good time had by all. Thanks, Tr. Neal, Tr. Ben and Tr. Amelia for a great first season!
Join us for the Extended Day Program in 2021-2022
The Extended Day Program offers children time and space to know and interact with each other across the grades. We have lots of outside time and lots of fun activities including arts and crafts, and board games. This is just a small sample of what your child will experience, and of course, it is supervised.

The contract for next year is available now! Download the contract HERE and return it to Patrick Hennessy in the business office.
SCA News
Hello Friends,
Our Virtual May Fair is almost here! On Sunday, we will be hosting a fun, virtual event to come together as a community. We will be playing team trivia and Bingo--it will be a great opportunity to have fun and socialize with our friends from different classrooms.

Look for a small bag of materials today coming home in backpacks today. The bag contains the following: a dinosaur dig egg, a noodle necklace kit, bingo cards, and a mystery prize wrapped in colorful paper. The dinosaur dig egg and noodle necklace are for your children to use whenever they'd like. Please ask them to hang on to the bingo cards and the prize until the Zoom meeting on Sunday. (and keep the prize wrapped if they want it to be a surprise!) Please be aware that some of the materials in the bag may pose a choking risk, so be cautious when using around younger siblings.

We hope that you can join us this Sunday, May 23rd, from 4-5pm.

Here are the details for the Event:
Topic: Virtual May Fair
