Each year, for the past 109 years, the association's president, elected by its members, takes our voice on the road and talks about real estate with audiences in, around, and beyond our area.
2020 SAR President Tom Clark was the guest of Ken Sax (himself a managing broker member of the SAR) on his program Real Estate Talk, this week, on Spokane Talks which delivers online content around the world.
The two talked about the current state of our market, the continuing challenge of low inventory, and how COVID-19 may leave lasting changes on the real estate landscape.

First-ever Virtual Membership Meeting
|
NEW!
Your association held its first-ever virtual membership meeting, this week. If you attended, your image appeared in the SAR classroom even if you didn't (photo above).
2020 SAR President Tom Clark convened the meeting at 11 a.m. Thursday and adjourned it just 15 minutes later - it is believed to be the shortest-ever SAR membership meeting.
About 50 members participated in the meeting Thursday, via Zoom.
SAR Executive Vice President Rob Higgins and SAR Assistant Executive Officer and MLS Director Sharon Houston supported the meeting in person - displaying required physical distancing and masking protocols (pictured above).
The main order of business was to approve last year's proposed Bylaw changes that resulted from the work of a Presidential Advisory Group (PAG) appointed by 2019 President
Gina Mosey as one of her priority items for her year.
Tom Hormel served as chair of the PAG. Members of the PAG included:
Tom Hormel, chair;
Marilyn Amato,
Mike Crowley,
Cynthia Gustafson,
Kristy Hamby,
Nancy Jones,
Jeannette Karis, and 2019 President
Gina Mosey.
The changes incorporated guidance from NAR's Model Bylaws and input from our corporate attorney to insure compliance with State law.
Board of Directors meeting minutes are available to members online here.
