Prize Winners Announced!

205 Open Houses this year!

THANK YOU for participating in this year's Open House Weekend!

Your SAR Communications Committee is very pleased to share that 205 unique open houses (278 open house events) participated in our ninth-annual Spokane REALTORS ® Open House Weekend, this past weekend.

The news is especially encouraging given our very tight inventory situation in the present marketplace.

The grand prize winner who receives a $500 cash card is:

Lacey Mills (Spokane)

The listing broker of the winning open house who receives a $25 cash card is:

Tammi Thomas (Realty One Group Eclipse)

The participating brokers who each receive a $100 cash card are:

Kathy Main (RE/MAX of Spokane)
Cody Snow (KW Spokane)
Lee Ann Simon (R. H. Cooke & Associates)
Kyle Crowley (Windermere/Manito)
Shannon Bottler (R. H. Cooke & Associates)

All winners were drawn and announced at the SAR Board of Directors' meeting on May 1st.

Session Ends with Big Wins for REALTORS®

The 2019 Legislative Session ended Sunday night and Washington REALTORS® had some big wins.

We got REALTORS® exempted from a 20% B&O tax increase, killed an effort to undermine "in-house" transactions, and passed much of our "Unlock the Door" campaign's affordable housing agenda - including condo liability reform.

REALTORS® Property Resource

REALTORS Property Resource® (RPR) is just out with its 2019 REALTOR® Social and Digital Media Report.

The report includes findings from a survey of over 650 REALTORS® concerning how they use social and digital media to market themselves and build their businesses.

Of 651 REALTORS ® surveyed, almost 74% indicated that awareness is the main reason they look to social media to boost their marketing tactics.

An overwhelming majority of respondents, nearly 65%, plan to commit more time to social and digital media. And just over 62% have more of their marketing budget earmarked towards social media for the coming year.

The Tech Tools you Really Need

The whirlwind of new technology being served up in the real estate space can leave an agent's head spinning.

Platforms and software promising to save you time, provide better leads, and automate contacts for follow-up may look like the answer to your dreams.

The allure of bright, shiny tech objects is understandable, especially if you're a newer agent looking to jump-start sales.

Impartial guidance can help to sort out which tools are truly necessary as you ramp up business.

REALTOR® magazine shares more on the tech tools you really need in its current edition.

2019 REALTORS® Conference & Expo

"Imagine the Possibilities" is the theme for this year's event.

The tagline and design concept is meant to be inspirational and fun.

It connects with San Francisco's culture and vibe - both past and present - in that the city has been (and continues to be) known for opportunity and innovation.

This is also what attendees can expect at this year's event - the opportunity to obtain innovative tools that will enhance their businesses.

IMAGINE what four days can do for you!

Third Grade Essay/Poster Contest

The SAR Third Grade Essay/Poster Committee joyfully announces the winners of its 2019 contest:

First Place

FIRST PLACE (pictured above)
Riley - Sunrise Elementary
My home is very special. It keeps me safe and warm. It keeps me from the rain, snow, and hail. When I'm home, it's like a blanket. This is what my home means to me.

Second Place

SECOND PLACE (pictured above)
Kinzie - Chattaroy Elementary
My home is special because your best memories are there. My family also supports me when I have rough days at school. In my room I have a playful pup. She loves to wrestle and play. Sometimes I let her sleep with me. I know my is my home sweet home.

Third Place

THIRD PLACE (pictured above)
Alli - Great Northern School
My home means so much to me because I grew up there. There are a lot of memories and history in my house. My house is full of laughter and love. My house is very important to me because when I am in my house I know my two sisters and parents love me. And that's all that matters.

Fourth Place

FOURTH PLACE (pictured above)
Maddie - Meadow Ridge Elementary
My home is a fun place to be loved and to laugh. If someone is sad the blues is wiped out of them in no-time. My family loves me no matter what. Me and my sisters go in our backyard and swing together while telling jokes. Sometimes we laugh so hard we can't breathe. My home is very important.

All of our winning posters will be on display at River Park Square in downtown Spokane through Bloomsday (this Sunday). They will be displayed at the SAR Awards Luncheon next week.

The 1st Place winner receives an ice cream party for his/her classroom.

We offer a special thank you to Ben & Jerry's for generously donating the Ice Cream Party!
