NAR Approves Change to COE Requirement
|
NAR's Board of Directors approved a change to our Code of Ethics training requirement at its November 11th meeting in San Francisco.
Beginning in 2022, REALTOR® members will be required to take Code of Ethics training once every three years, replacing the once every two years requirement in place since 2017.
The extension was made in order to give members more time to fit it into their continuing education schedule and to give local associations adequate time between cycles to administer the program.

"Stop Being Naive"
|
Using a tagline at the bottom of your email signature that warns about the dangers of wire fraud scams is simply not a bold enough alert for your clients, warned security expert
Robert Siciliano at a Sunday session about cybersecurity during the REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Francisco.
Siciliano challenged real estate pros to increase their knowledge of and effectiveness at thwarting scams so the industry becomes a less appealing target to scammers.
The industry is "functioning in a state of denial like a breach will never happen," Siciliano said.
"Many real estate agents don't fully understand the real threat, and the bad guys are exploiting the flaws and vulnerabilities of the real estate industry's inaction."

Annual Parcel Inspections Begin
|
The Spokane County Assessor's office, next week, will begin its annual effort to inspect county parcels for 2020 assessments which will affect 2021 property taxes.
The process includes taking new exterior photos (pictured above) and updating records.
This year, for the first time, the county will be using tablet technology to allow direct data entry in the field.
While no action is required of property owners, you may find value in sharing the county news release with your clients to keep them informed.
