Dear OFS Members and Supporters,

This weekend kicks off with online tickets for concerts coming to the Capitol Theater Backstage this summer!

If you haven't experienced live music on the Backstage before, we recommend that you do! Always memorable, fun, and is one of the best ways to experience live music in Olympia!  It's like they're playing in your living room, how cool is that?

We'll see you at the theater,

Nominated for Best Documentary at this year's Academy Awards, Egyptian-American documentarian Jehane Noujaim's (Startup.com, Control Room) The Square takes you inside the Egyptian revolution centered around Cairo's Tahrir Square. Following the lives of several Egyptians who participated in the revolution from 2011 through today, Noujaim's film attempts to give a broad view of the lives at stake - actor/activist Khalid Abdalla, singer/songwriter Ramy Essam, Muslim Brotherhood member Magdy Ashour, and every-youth Ahmed Hassan, struggling to rise above his hardscrabble beginnings and personifying a nation's hopes and dreams. 'Sexual Harassment'- for many Americans in 1991, the first time they heard the term was during the Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, when Professor Anita Hill, who had worked for Thomas years before, detailed his inappropriate and abusive behavior towards her for an all-male Senate Judiciary Committee who, along with the media, put Hill's character on trial instead of Thomas'. Freida Lee Mock (Maya Lin: A Strong Clear Vision) brings this culture-turning moment to vivid life in her newest documentary, Anita: Speaking Truth to Power. Read more and view trailer

Dir: Jim Jarmusch / 2014 / US / 123 min / DCP

Jim Jarmusch is renowned for his super-cool films inhabited by outsiders living in a skewed world, so it's only fitting that he would journey into the world of vampires. In Only Lovers Left Alive, Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston play Eve and Adam, a married couple who have been living contently for centuries both together and apart. As of late, Adam has been feeling discontent, staying holed up in his living space listening to and creating music that feeds his soul that only lives in darkness.

Dir: Denis Villeneuve / 2014 / Canada, Spain / 90 min / DCP

In the mind-bending thriller Enemy, a man meets his double in a not-so-normal world. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Adam Bell, a history professor whose life is as mundane as his class lectures. Things take a turn when he watches a movie and spots someone who looks just like himself in the background of a party scene. Freaked out, Adam tracks down this person, Anthony Clair (also played by Gyllenhaal), a third-tier actor who is as wound up and dynamic as Adam is nondescript.
