This past week, we recognized over 60 students that participated in this year’s Science Fair. The students worked diligently to produce high quality projects. It is safe to say that Oak Ridge has many developing scientists who are problem solvers and critical thinkers. We would like to thank the students, parents, teachers, and our PTO for all of their support and engagement with this year’s Science Fair. Congratulations to our Grade Level Winners and to Sarena Mustafa and Anjali Pisharody for being our school’s Overall Winners for their team project, “Which Generation is More Tech Savvy?”.
A few weeks ago, we shared an update regarding the
school district’s plan for inclement weather make up time. Beginning January 3, 2019, our school day will begin 5 minutes earlier. The first bell will ring at 7:15 (it currently rings at 7:20) and this will be when students can enter the school building from car rider line and from the school bus lane. The tardy bell will ring at 7:40 (it currently rings at 7:45) and this is the time that all students will need to be in their actual classroom (not just in the front doors of the school) so that they are not marked tardy. So, please begin thinking of the two times – 7:15 and 7:40 – as the new start times for school once Jan. 3rd arrives. It is only 5 minutes but since it is so early in the morning, we know that it will impact morning routines.
We look forward to a great week!
