A Message from ORES Principal Denise Francisco
We would like to begin this week by extending our appreciation to all Veterans as we recognize this important day on Monday, November 12th. The school will be closed in honor of this holiday. We look forward to seeing all students back in school on Tuesday!

Thank you to all our parents who have met face-to-face with your child’s teacher to receive your child’s 1st Quarter Report Card.  We will have the same procedure in place for 2nd Quarter and look forward to seeing everyone for 2nd Quarter Conferences on Jan. 22, 2019.

This week, we welcome a Principal for the Day on Thursday, Nov. 15th. We also will have classroom level Spelling Bees in Grades 3-5. There is a PTO McDonald’s Restaurant Night on Thursday and our Kindergarten students take a Field Trip on Friday. Please also come out and support our Go Far students as they complete their first race this coming Saturday, Nov. 17th in High Point!

Looking ahead, we want to remind all our families that Thanksgiving Break includes Wed. 11/21-Fri. 11/23. Science Fair Projects will be due to the school on Wed. 11/28.

Have a great week,
Mrs. Francisco

Help Needed: ORE Coordinator with Northwest Guilford Area Backpack Ministry
Northwest Guilford Area Backpacks needs a parent(s) to help coordinate Oak Ridge Elementary' s Third Grade Class Service Learning Project. The 3rd Grade Class for the past several years has collected food and packed bags for the children in the Northwest Guilford Area Backpack Program.   You do not have to have a 3rd grader to help.

For more information about the program and a specific description of the Coordinator role, please read this flyer.

Can you and/or a friend help? Please email Amy Bruce at abruce22@triad.rr.com if you have any questions and/or would like to help.

Share your photographs with Oak Ridge Elementary!
At Oak Ridge, we love pictures of our students and all of the amazing things they do at our school. Please share your BEST pictures with us for possible use in our yearbook, on our website, slideshows, and other purposes.

We especially love pictures taken during special lessons, performances, class parties, field trips, afterschool clubs, etc.

Simply email your high-quality pics to: orespictures@gmail.com (or click on the image).  If using a cell phone, high resolution pictures work best, and landscape orientation is especially helpful for our website photos. Make sure the pictures are not in “live mode” or they will be blurry when we receive them.

Questions? Contact Mrs. Dalton for more information. Thank you!
Thank you very much for helping our Kids Vote!
The PTO would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's Kids Voting a success! ORE teachers, staff and parents all pulled together to help our students realize that voting is an important civic duty.

We are so grateful for your contribution!
Sponsorship Opportunities
All of our sponsors, no matter how big or small, make a difference. Sponsoring our weekly newsletter, gymnasium banners, website and school planners helps us provide the school staff, our students and our families resources that the school's budget does not provide. If you are interested in a sponsorship, please contact us.
