Dear Meher Center Family and Friends,
Greetings in Meher Baba’s love to you and your family.
In today's offering, we honor and remember the poetic prayer, You Alone Exist, that Meher Baba dictated to His close disciple Bhau Kalchuri. The prayer describes the many attributes of God - from the simplest forms to the most sublime facets.
About this prayer, Meher Baba said, “I like this prayer because it tells people who I am, what I am. People do not know who or what I am, and so they need this prayer to know me, to understand me. I gave this prayer to them…A day will come when they will know this…In the future this prayer of mine will be sung in every house throughout the world.”
In the video below, Bhau Kalchuri narrates the humorous story leading up to the creation of the prayer. Despite the concern held by Bhau and others about the detailed nature of its contents, Baba said, "It is important, very important, that people find God in disagreeable things, that they find Me in disagreeable things. I am there in everything and in every creature. I am there in the dirt, the scorpion, the snake, the elephant and the mosquito, everything!"*
