As you heard, Los Angeles County is now accepting waivers for TK-2nd grades as is the Pasadena Public Health Department. They are prioritizing schools with many low income students, however, as soon as the application process is made available, I will apply for St. Philip.
In the meantime, it is important that you know all that we have completed to be Covid Safety Compliant for re-opening. The following are our plans with those completed marked by an asterisk. Those completed but not strictly required are marked in bold.
All HVAC systems have bipolar ionization units and Merv 13 filters
All classrooms have permanently installed hand sanitizers*
All restrooms are sanitized frequently throughout the day*
Frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day*
All persons on campus are required to wear masks*
All persons who enter campus have their temperature taken*
Masks are provided for all employees and visitors who arrive without one*
Student seating is socially distanced by six feet*
Other rooms have been identified and prepared for student groups making it possible to have more than one group from the same class on campus.
The parish Ministry Building has been cleaned, sanitized, and the HVAC units prepared so that student groups can be in this building as well.
Auxiliary teachers are prepared to travel to classes, limiting student exposure*
I will keep you updated on the process and where we stand.
Our updated daily schedules begin today, Monday, October 5th.

This year's Pumpkin Patch will be on Friday, October 23rd. We thank Kelly and Lon Duncan for donating all the pumpkins! We invite you to help additionally support this event by becoming a sponsor! Please see the attached for additional information. Thank you!

Golf Squad Fall at St Philip the Apostle will be hosted at Altadena Golf Course and is for both new and continuing students and provides weekly opportunities for your child to learn the technical swing mechanics (i.e. putting, chipping, full swing, etc.) as well as the social skills required to enjoy golf, the clubs, and golf course (i.e. vocabulary, etiquette, rules, history, etc.) all under the instruction of an LPGA or PGA Professional.
Golf is a very challenging and fun sport that can lead to college scholarships. So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your child already plays, it is great to enjoy weekly, convenient lessons from the pro.
(Click Here to read more on how and why your child can benefit from continuing professional, golf practice with Golf Squad at your school.)
