"Our mission is to worship God as a loving community that grows in faith and shares the Gospel of Christ."

Prayer of the week

Dear Heavenly Father,

What joy that we can approach You in prayer, confident that You will receive us; You will listen and answer!

This week, our immediate prayers are for:

  • Jill who had a stroke and is fighting cancer. Be also with Dorie who continues to fight her cancer. Please, Lord, give her rest and increase her white cell count so that chemo can begin. Thank you for the wonderful teaching institutions like Stanford that you have given us who can take care of our sickest with doctors who have knowledge and techniques beyond what we have at our local hospitals;

  • the church, our Board of Directors, Pastor Schmidt, Pastor Harbough, Pastor Rice and Pastor Klems as they go about their important work for You. Guide all who work in Your church to do it not for personal gain, but for Your glory and in service to You and to those they represent. Have them respect one another, listen to and consider all ideas that are offered so that they can be strong and successful in their mission. Have all Christian churches remain steadfast and allow them to thrive;

  • those we tend to overlook or forget, never on purpose. Encourage us to invite them with warmth to be part of our loving community. Protect our church from spiritual conflict. We pray that God would act even through the small things;

  • our upcoming Advent and Christmas activities - meals, caroling, worship services - to be full of community, love, and good cheer. Make each event prime with opportunities to share Christ's love and hospitality with those around us.

Be with all who need help, those who are sick or are hurting, those who are hungry, sad, lonely, or overwhelmed by the storms of life. We confess our need for you today. We need your healing and hope, and to be reminded that you work on behalf of those you love. Forgive us for trying to fix our situations all on our own when help and healing are right in front of us in You.

Thank you for the rain which we need so much. You always provide what we need when we need it and we are so grateful that we can ask you and know that you hear us. Thank you for your great love and blessing over our lives. Thank you that your favor has no end, but it lasts for our entire lifetime.

You are the Light of the world, Your name is above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. May You be glorified by my life today and always.

In Jesus' name,

Amen

Martin Luther's Daily Prayer

"I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen."

Continued prayers for those on our hearts and minds for comfort, healing, peace and a life in the Gospel of Christ:
