Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 30 th is being promoted through a partnership with Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce and Deming-Luna County Mainstreet to help promote shopping local as we approach this holiday season. There will be a pop-up shopping event at Leyendecker Plaza from 2-8pm and various business throughout Deming will be offering many great special buys and promotions on this special day. Any business that is interested in participating visit to access the application on the home page or stop by 800 E. Pine Street (Deming Visitor Center). Please return the application to the Deming Visitor Center by November 22 nd to participate. If you have any questions call 546-2674. The next meeting of our Democratic Party is on Tuesday, November 19, at La Fonda Restaurant at 6:00 pm.

Join the Democratic Party of New Mexico State Platform and Resolutions Committee (SPARC). This will happen on  Saturday,   November 23 , at  La Fonda Restaurant from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.   The Committee is inviting all interested in Luna and Hidalgo Counties who have an interest in platform issues and public policy considerations on Immigration, Education, and Agriculture. There will also be a discussion on education issues specific to Luna County.

Ready, Set, Work!
Western New Mexico University Career Services is hosting a pair of events to boost candidates’ chances at getting hired and match businesses with professionals who are a fit for their needs. 

A career fair at W-N-M-U on Wednesday, December fourth, allows job seekers to apply for positions with businesses that are currently hiring and walk into job interviews on the spot. The career fair will take place in conjunction with the WNMU Student Research Symposium in the Intramural Gym from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and interviews will be conducted in a neighboring room.

This training provided by WNMU Career Services is intended to populate the local workforce and launch students’ careers while also raising the employ-ability of area residents.
A Holiday Gift Boutique is the theme for December 2019 at the Deming Art Center . Come, browse, shop and find wonderful, unique gifts for family and friends this holiday season. The gallery is located at 100 S. Gold in Deming, NM and the hours are 10AM-4PM Monday – Saturday (closed Christmas Day).
