You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.

This is our way of saying Thank You to the congregation for all of your support and an invitation to find out more about our committee and the partner organizations

Mission of the Month: Jenna's Promise
Jenna’s Promise is a recovery community in northern Vermont with a whole-life approach to the treatment of substance use disorder. They help individuals in recovery with sober housing, treatment services, a support community, and an innovative work program that provides valuable job skills.
The non-profit began with the Tatro family’s six-year painful struggle to understand the disease, find suitable treatment centers and cope with the struggles of having a family member with substance use disorder.
On Sunday April 13th Gregory Tatro will join us for the Mission Moment!

Green Tip for April!
As the snow melts, my mind is turning to gardening and farmers markets. . . which has me thinking about my food sources. Did you know that conventional farming practices strip the soil of nutrients, accelerate erosion of top soil, and contribute to algae blooms in waterways through fertilizer run off. The aim of conventional farming is efficiency and productivity.
Organic farming on the other hand bans synthetics fertilizers, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms and uses centuries old alternatives such as crop rotation, companion planting, and composting.
Regenerative farming goes further still by prioritizing soil health to combat climate change. Practices include cover cropping, crop diversity, and shallow or no till cultivation, all of which contribute to soil, plant, and pollinator health. The aim of regenerative farming is to improve the land and to work in harmony with living species above and below the soil. Regenerative methods create a healthy soil environment for microbes to thrive. And microbes, as it turns out, propagate topsoil by breaking down dead plant matter. Amazing, right?!
It is not possible to know the farming practices of most grocery store items, which is why supporting your Farmer’s Market is a good summer shopping option. Buying locally sourced, regeneratively farmed food is just another way you can go green!

Stewardship Update!
We are filled with gratitude for the generous support we’ve received so far for the 2025 Stewardship Campaign. In a year when we’ve asked so much of our congregation, your response has been truly inspiring. We are now just $20,000 away from reaching our $300,000 goal — and there’s still time to get there!
Every pledge, no matter the size, is meaningful and makes a real difference in the life of our church.
Making a pledge is simple — just visit stowecommunitychurch.org/2025pledge and let us know how you would like to offer your financial support this year.
Thank you for being such an important part of the Stowe Community Church family. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your pledge, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
With gratitude and blessings,
Nancy Jeffries-Dwyer

Be an Usher!
We would love to see your smiling face at the front door when we come in to the church on Sundays!! This is an excellent opportunity for you to greet the congregation as they come in.
If you’re new to the church, it’s a great way to put names with faces, as well as a way for other to get to know you! If you’re a long time member of the church, this would be the time for you to get to know new members and greet face to face with dear friends.
It’s not a difficult job, but an important one. This is our first opportunity to greet folks and make them feel welcome….because they are.
There is always a sign-up sheet in the narthex, and also in the weekly Quest. Please lend a hand and be a welcoming presence for our beautiful church.
Please contact Nan Myers @ 802-244-1471 with any questions and for details on what the “Job” entails. I’m happy to assist!

Recycle Ink Cartridges!
As part of our SCC Green Team initiatives, we all want to recycle more to avoid sending items to our only landfill in Coventry, Vermont!!
To help with recycling, our church invites you to bring empty ink cartridges, both small and large, to us. We send small ones postage free to California, and they send us a small check. Empty large ink cartridges go to Staples and they give us credits to buy paper for our bulletins.
Please invite your family and friends to bring empty ink cartridges to the church.

| | | You can find past sermons on the Stowe Community Church YouTube channel. Go to YouTube and search on Stowe Community Church. | | | As has become my tradition, for Palm Sunday I'll share "The Holy City". And appropriately here's a version sung in the Holy City itself, Jerusalem! | | | Another staple of Palm Sunday is "The Palms." Here it is sung by the Crystal Cathedral choir and orchestra. This was the Church started by Robert Schuller. It is now called Christ Cathedral and is a Catholic Church. | | | | | |
