| Business Leaders of Color |
Hello to our partners working in the economic development and entrepreneurship world!
I believe most of you have heard me discuss our Ithaca Retail Entrepreneurship Program (IREP) and our intensive training programs we have been doing for the past 8 months. We are very excited about this program and the opportunities it is bringing to our community. To date, we've had 30+ people take various levels of the trainings. We've also provided graduates with free vending locations at our CFCU Summer Concert Series and Apple Harvest, business signage and advertising, and ongoing 1-1 coaching with our consultants, Gladys Brangman of Business Leaders of Colors and Terrand Smith of 37 Oaks.
Our next round of Retail Readiness training starts in August and we are looking for 9 participants to take advantage of this unique opportunity for a thorough course in all things running a successful retail business. Originally, this program was intended solely for aspiring or new retail business owners, but we now have crafted it to include retail store managers to help give them a more thorough understanding of the retail business, or even for seasoned business owners looking for a refresher in certain key areas. The 10 week (evening, online) course covers everything from merchandising and product diversification to pricing and marketing, and more. Each participant also receives 1 on 1 coaching with 37 Oaks' experts and additional coaching with BLOC. The cost to the participant is only a $50 registration fee! If they complete the entire course, they are reimbursed this fee. It really is an incredible deal and a great launch pad for people wanting to own and/or run retail businesses.
Please share the link below or the attached graphic and encourage people to register by THIS FRIDAY, July 26 (Due to our newsletter being sent out on Monday try to apply ASAP!!! -WOC Staff). If anyone has questions, they can reach out to Gladys Brangman, Business Leaders of Colors, as she is our partner in working directly with the businesses on their training and overall IREP experience. Her email is gladys@businessleadersofcolors.com and she is copied here.
Thank you in advance for helping to share this program with others who may be ready to take the next leap or get a refresher!
