Regarding the Resolution to change the length of Wardens' Terms
In last week’s Red Door, a resolution proposing a change in length of terms for our Wardens was proposed for discussion and voting at the Annual Meeting. This resolution is reprinted below. During the week a concern from the congregation was expressed that we did not propose the change in the wardens terms with at least 30 days for discussion as dictated by the parish’s bi-laws and constitution. To address this concern, we will plan to discuss the resolution at Sunday’s annual meeting; however, we will table voting on it for a few more weeks to allow the full 30 days in case there are additional questions or issues that anyone would like to raise.

Authorization to hold the meeting by virtual format

Voting Agenda Item for the St. Alban’s Congregation
February 14, 2021
Submitted by
Anne Krabacher,
Senior Warden

Whereas,
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church holds a parish-wide annual meeting every February to conduct the business of the church, vote on the slate of vestry nominees, and approve the year’s budget.
Whereas,
The COVID pandemic has limited the number of individuals who can attend in-person meetings, causing many of our in-person events, such as regular Sunday worship, to occur in a virtual format.
Whereas
The parish values the health and safety of our members and wishes not to place its congregation in a risky situation.
Whereas,
The Diocese of Southern Ohio set a precedent for holding large meetings virtually during the pandemic when it conducted the diocesan convention on November 7, 2020 via Zoom.

Therefore be it resolved,
That this congregation supports the facilitation of the Annual Meeting on February 14, 2021 in a virtual format, to ensure the safety of parishioners and maximize attendance at the event.

We will be providing a report on the year 2020. We will use digital format so as to save the cost of printing many copies of a multi-page report. If you want a printed copy (or know someone who will want one) please email Parish Administrator, Janet Lewis. Use "Annual Meeting Report Request" in subject line. Click HERE for Janet's email.

Changing the Length of Terms for Senior & Junior Warden from 1 year to 2 years.
Voting Agenda Item for the St. Alban’s Congregation
February 14, 2021
Submitted by
Anne Krabacher,
Senior Warden

Whereas,
The Vestry of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church works closely with the Rector and staff in overseeing all aspects of parish life, such as ministry areas, church buildings and grounds, and the budget.
Whereas,
The organizational structure of the Vestry includes a Senior Warden and a Junior Warden, which are leadership roles that currently have one-year terms.
Whereas
The Vestry and the parish, would be better-served to have the roles of Senior Warden and Junior Warden hold two-year terms, allowing for greater continuity in leadership and more time for the individual in each position to learn and develop in the role.
Whereas,
A change to the length of the wardens’ terms requires a vote of the entire parish, typically at the annual meeting.
Whereas,
The 2020 Vestry approves and supports this change of term lengths for the wardens from one year to two years, beginning with the individuals who assume these roles at the annual meeting on February 14, 2021.  Furthermore, the Vestry voted in favor of adding this voting item on the agenda at the annual meeting for approval by the entire parish congregation.

Therefore be it resolved,
That the congregation of St. Alban’s approves and supports this change of term lengths for the Senior Warden and the Junior Warden from one year to two years, beginning with the individuals who assume these roles at the annual meeting on February 14, 2021.
We will be providing a report on the year 2020. We will use digital format so as to save the cost of printing many copies of a multi-page report. Look for a special email later this week. If you want a printed copy (or know someone who will want one) please email Parish Administrator, Janet Lewis. Use "Annual Meeting Report Request" in subject line. Click HERE for Janet's email.

Two New Ministry Opportunities
Live Services Ministry
We have been streaming worship services because of the COVID19 pandemic. We have discovered that this form of worship offers us a new way to reach people. We plan to continue to stream services as long as the pandemic makes that necessary but we plan also to continue this practice even when we are able to gather again in person.

We are beginning to create a group of people to evolve and support the Live Services Ministry.  This ministry will include covering our Wednesday Morning Prayer service and our Sunday services, as well as any other service that is to be recorded or done live.  We hope to have at least 3-4 people who can monitor the services, run the streaming software(OBS) and monitor Facebook/YouTube chats.  No prior experience is required.

If you are interested in leading or supporting this important ministry, then please reach out to Fr. Devin([email protected]) and/or Janet Lewis([email protected]).  Thank you for your interest, we are eager to hear from you.

Compline Ministry

Would you like to be part of the online Compline leadership team? We need someone who would be willing to lead Compline on Facebook once every other month on the 2nd Monday of the month

Never done a Facebook live video? Worry not! We will walk you through it.

If you are invested or would like to learn more about this opportunity, please contact Kayla at [email protected].

CARING AND SHARING
Each month we highlight a specific organization. We do so to allow members of the parish to offer financial support directly to organizations that "speak" especially strongly to them. This week we feature some information about our February organization:
Procter Scholarship Fund
From Amy Boyd, Procter Center, Executive Director
Dear Friends:
Procter is gearing up to welcome folks back to Procter this summer. We don’t know exactly what that is going to look like yet, except to say that we will follow all CDC, State and American Camp Association ( ACA) guidelines.

Family Camp will be the primary program with an emphasis on the farm. Families will be able to go up to the farm and get their “hands dirty” as they help plant, weed and harvest from the bountiful vegetable garden. There will also be chores to do with the pigs and chickens. All the usual camp activities such as pool and lake swim, canoeing, games, crafts, campfire and more will be in full gear. Come and enjoy the fresh air, wide open space and fellowship at Procter.

As we welcome families back to Procter we know there will be financial need now, more than ever. Your contributions will help families come and enjoy a peaceful, spiritual and fun-filled weekend at Procter Summer Camp.

Also this summer, your church family can come and enjoy a day on the farm and lunch at Procter. The plan is to offer this on Saturday mornings. Stay tuned for more details.

Thank you for your continued support of Procter and people that we serve.

Blessings and Peace,
Amy R. Boyd
Executive Director

Our Prayer List
Christians are encouraged to engage regularly in prayer. Examples include prayers of petition for healing, for well-being or for peace in our communities and the world. We should also offer prayers of gratitude and celebration for our many blessings. Each week we offer a Prayer List which includes prayers of petition & prayers of gratitude, celebration and thanksgiving. We specifically invite all to offer these prayers of gratitude too. They may be prayers for weddings, anniversaries, the birth of children or any of our many blessings. If you want a person or an event included in our prayer list please email Ernestine Ujah.
